I know, don’t freak out. It’s me. Risen from the depths of barely active tumblr accounts.

I couldn’t even tell you what the last tumblr post I made was, aside from a couple reblogs just to keep the page active because I wasn’t ready to let GBB go yet. I’d been thinking of deleting/archiving the page for a very long time but some things in my life have changed and brought me back here.

First of all, I’ve graduated from college. I worked in NYC for 10 months serving with Americorps and then moved to Rhode Island to start anew. I’ve been here for nearly a year.

I had a cool job at an oceanography firm, but due to panic within and around the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) in the United States following the flaming dumpster fire that was our election, I was laid off. They couldn’t hire me full time as they had promised after several months of internship because the EPA and other clients were cutting projects previously promised to our firm. I was so wounded by my termination, partially because I thought I had finally struggled enough and had found a job I could grow with for years.

The other part of my crisis was largely because I realized I didn’t actually like oceanography all that much. And that everything I had wanted for the last four years wasn’t actually what I wanted for my life at all.

So fuck me, right?

But after quite a bit of soul searching and licking my wounds, I think I know what I want.

I want to start a goldfish farm. I don’t know how I’ll get there or how to do it, but I think it’s the path I’m meant for. Whether that means going back for another bachelors (my first one is in Geography and Environmental Science) or going to graduate school or even going without further schooling... I have no fucking idea. That’s partially why I want to blog about this -- so I can kind of noodle around some ideas and possibly get some feedback.

Anyway, that’s it for now. I just wanted to throw out a hello for those of you still other there and interested in GBB. There’s still a couple thousand of you on my followers list, so someone’s likely to read this, right?
