Hello, I am Amal from Gaza. I am 28 years old. I am married to Abdel Nasser, and I have a daughter named (Rolan) and a son named (Omar). We live in difficult circumstances. Our lives have changed for the worse. The occupation destroyed everything. My husband and I lost our jobs and our home, and I lost my father due to the delay in receiving treatment and the lack of medicines, as the war has been going on for a year. I now live in a tent with my husband, children, mother, and younger siblings, and I take care of them because my mother is sick and needs treatment and special attention, and I do not want to lose her like my father.

My children grew up in war. They grew up under fear, terrorism, bombing, destruction and food shortages. I hope everyone will look at us with mercy and help us get out of here as quickly as possible so we can live a better life than this nightmare. My children and brothers can live a beautiful life like the rest of the children in the world, and they can be educated. Please help us escape from Gaza.

Hello, I am Mahmoud Al-Sir, married to Sherine Hussein, and I live with my father and mother

We live in the midst of the ongoing hellish war in Gaza, trapped between walls of fear and despair

We struggle daily to survive in an environment full of threats and dangers.

I lost my source of livelihood, which made me unable to provide for my family's needs and ensure their safety. The war destroyed our home, forcing us to flee repeatedly and making us homeless.

e are now facing great difficulty in providing a safe place to live, clean clothes, and food. In addition, my father suffers from asthma and needs constant treatment, and my mother had an eye operation earlier, and the summer heat and cooking over a fire greatly affected her eyes.

Our only hope now is to escape this ongoing nightmare and find a safe haven for our family. However, this requires huge financial costs. The coordination fee to cross the border is $5,000 per adult, an amount I cannot afford alone

We urgently appeal for your moral and financial assistance to cover the costs necessary to escape to a safe environment, where we can build a better future for my family and ensure their safety.

My name is Mohamed Saqr, and just a short time ago, my family and I were living a life full of hope and stability in Gaza. We had worked hard for everything we had – multiple homes, a farm, and several successful businesses. Life was good, and we were building a future for ourselves. My brother, 24, recently married, and we were both proud of the lives we had built. But all of that changed in a heartbeat when the war began on October 7th.

this is my brother, Motaz Saqr, who had to undergo surgery in his stomach due to the pollution we are exposed to daily.

This is my house, before and after, im newly married and this was the house we were supposed to live in but the war happened and it turned into rubble since the war.

Since that day, everything we knew has been taken away from us. We were forced to flee our homes, leaving behind everything we had worked for. We lost our homes, our farm, and our businesses. Now, my family and I are constantly on the move, trying to find safety and shelter wherever we can. The fear we live with every day is unimaginable. We move from one camp to another, never knowing when or where the next attack might come. My brother’s children cry every night, scared of the loud explosions that seem to be getting closer with each passing day.

This is my brother’a daughter, this is the condition we are living in during the war.

Every day is a struggle just to survive. Food, water, and medicine are scarce, and we never know if the next meal will come. My wife, my brother, his wife, and their children are doing everything we can to stay strong, but it’s getting harder by the day. We’ve lost so much, but the hardest part is the constant fear for our lives. We’ve already witnessed too much destruction, and we know the situation could get even worse.

We started this GoFundMe because we need help. We need funds not only to survive but also to try and escape Gaza before it’s too late. All people have a tendency to be unconsciously biased toward seeing trans women as untrustworthy, unsafe, lacking vulnerability, the problem to be solved rather than a person to be taken care of. And this is not less true in trans and queer and feminist communities. It’s just more unconscious, and more propped up with social justice, feminism, queer lib, leftist, and anti-oppression beliefs. This book is talking about this in context to a physical public situation of harassment, but this is true of social conflicts too, including on social media, in friend groups, in all kinds of situations. The unconscious bias also gets taken advantage of by people who know what they’re doing and hide behind that bias to make their mistreatment of transfems seem reasonable—again, often supported with social justice and anti-oppression rhetoric. TERFs aren’t the only people who do this! It felt so incredible to see this spelled out in print, plain as day, an actual book calling out a real thing I’ve experience more times than I can count, that all transfems I know go through, and that I still feel crazy for seeing because there’s so much gaslighting about it. You know how when you KNOW something is real, but you feel defensive about that knowledge, like you have to be ready to hold onto it, and then you see something confirming that knowledge for you in no uncertain terms and it feels like “wow maybe I wasn’t crazy all this time!” That’s how I felt seeing this.

NYPD chase a man for fare evasion, tase him, become “aware of a knife” and then started blasting, hitting a cop, and two bystanders (one in the head) before getting this guy. Backtracking with “well this guy has done xyz before”, the cops didn’t know that. They frantically looked him up so they could justify a mass shooting of New Yorkers.

They drew guns over skipping the fare. They fired at anything that moved when they thought he had a knife. No confirmation that he even did have a knife.
