The original recording, in my opinion, can be viewed as Joe's experiences during this tumultuous period of his life, while the rerecording is set in the future where Joe is an adult who has matured and is reflecting on this incredibly rough period of his life.

I wouldn't say this next opinion on the lyric changes is 'cope' since I likely won't revisit any of the rerecorded songs on this edition of the album (besides the new ones) because I personally don't enjoy that as much as the original, but to me the lack of swearing is because this is a reflection on the past and not the experiencing of it. Joe as an adult doesn't feel a need to recount these stories of this time with the same anger and pain he was imbued with within them. He has come to terms with this anger and no longer embodies it. The original album was the fresh wound. This version is the scar it left behind, sometimes sore but not as painful.

It is to be added that this could just be me looking too far into this rerecording, but I always love to speculate and theorize. And additionally I have to say that I don't think that the approach the band took with this album is necessarily bad. Yes, I agree the sections of this album where the profanity was removed and reworked are clunky and awkward and I do not enjoy them as much as the original, nor do I think they're as good as the original. But I also think people need to understand that sometimes things just... aren't for their tastes. To me this is similar to what MADLO received, where for some reason people are opposed to it because it is different. Change is natural, and when it comes with artists, I think its especially really important. Change oftentimes leads to growth, and growth is what we should strive for.

Y.T. gets Teto and Owl gets Adachi. Teto for Y.T. cause I feel like how despite her origins as a joke, Teto embraced who she was, Iike how Y.T. embraces being human. Adachi for Owl because a lot of songs with her have themes of kinda like, not feeling human? Which is befitting considering Adachi's voicebank is entirely synthetic. I think Owl would see herself in someone who also struggles with her humanity.

Anyways I love them so much someone take them away from me and fight me in court for custody 💥💥💥
