I canât hardly believe itâs been nearly ten years since I first came to Inaba. I was a huge jerk back then before I met them. I hated moving so much because my fatherâs or my motherâs jobs. I couldnât keep any friends hardly. So I stop making friends with each new school I go to. Heck, I canât even remember how many houses Iâve lived in since starting middle school. But then my parents told me they were going overseas and I had to stay with family I didnât know very well for a whole year. I was pissed at first, but I felt it wasnât any different then moving again. This time I thought maybe I was still going to be alone, just with a bunch of people around. So I just brush it off and played the slightly well matter nephew. When I first met my uncle Dojima in town, I thought he was just being nice since he was my motherâs brother. I didnât even know I had a cousin name Nanako. She seem super shy of me when we first met. I just kept to myself and didnât want to scare her. But I still try to get along with her, even if the first few family dinners were kind of awkward at first.Â
Then I started school the next day.
Also saw a poor soul crash on his bike, so I leave him be.Â
I had a homeroom teacher that hated me the moment he saw me. Or he just hated teenagers all together.
But as soon he called me a loser, I wanted to punch him right then and there. So instead I asked âWho are you calling a loser?â I still remember the look on his face when I said that. I almost wanted to laugh when he said I made it to what he called âhis shit listâ. I did wonder if it was going to get ugly before a girl in green raise her hand and asked if I could sit next to her since the seat was empty. It was a nice save on her part. After school the same girl in green Introduce herself and her best friend to me. Chie and Yukiko. I also sort of met Yosuke that same day before Chie kicked him where it really hurts, but I didnât know his name till the next day. They were pretty noisy, but I somehow didnât mind it. Kind of help me relax a little in this small plain town. But it didnât stay relaxing for long. From murders to rumors to a fantasy like world inside of a TV to finally the Personas.Â

// Sorry for not being on here lately. Iâve been busy knitting shadow blob plushies of the P4 cast(pictures of my progress and other shadow blobs I made under read more) and been taking care of my mother all day till I either pass out or try to relax playing animal crossing or Yakuza 3. Right now going to be working on drafts and maybe hop on to my Ann blog as well.
They are midway through stocking the green onion display when they vaguely note footsteps behind them. The grocery department is usually pretty busy during the day, so they donât think much of it until they are addressed.Â
Turning around, Michio gives their biggest âservice smileâ to the customer who has spoken to them.
âYes, I do! What can I help you find today, sir?â
He looks very familiar to them, but he canât be who Michio thinks he is. Perhaps once they help him out, they can figure it out.
Once this person turn around to face the silver haired man, his eye grew slightly wide and lips an small o shape.
Shirogane Naoto?Â
Wasnât Naoto living in a different place in a city somewhere? But this canât be the detective Yu always knew. This person here looked so much younger. And the eye color is completely different. Should he remove his glasses and clean them? They looked so much like the blue haired fortune.
...
âNaoto...?â Yuâs sounded unsure when he asked.Â
The first thing that the Guardian could tell is that the Lordâs presence here was non-existent. So this was another world where the thieves managed to kill them. Nails dug into his palm at the thought before he remembered why he was here. He needed to learn what ultimately caused the Lordâs downfall and bring the information back to prevent it from happening again. Because the young master remained back in their Lordâs domain, the Guardian was dressed more akin to a human. His armor was hidden away, and blades were concealed underneath the clothes. He wore light blue jeans with white sneakers and a jacket with golden crosses wrapping around the biceps. His eyes were faint pink in color, nearly white, yet not nearly as white as his hair.Â
The memories he held before he became a loyal servant of his Lord were minimal. Mostly names and faces that were tied together, sometimes special abilities as well if they were dangerous enough. Emotions and memories were wiped clean as they were irrelevant. Which is why the only thing that he saw standing across from him was a name and power. The other possessed a power similar to his own and the young masterâs. Yet it still remained different from either one of theirs. Could it be because of the other that the Lord was slain?
ââŚ. the Lord, he does not exist in this world. Do you know who killed him?â
âOh you read them? Did you like the ending? I thought the part when the angel made a wish with Kuma-Kuma on the stars to find the truth was a nice touch.â
The silver haired man was talking on the phone with his editor. He was discussing on the second part of his book series of the story of Kuma-kuma and the golden angel. He was kind of proud of it and couldnât wait till he starts on the third book soon. But boy, was his editor was super pushy. He always âremindâ Yu of his deadlines. At least heâll be in a different city for a week before coming here to Shibuya.
âOh, of course. Iâll email you when I get back home. Please be careful on your trip. Have a good one, Higurashi-san.â Yu hangs up on his editor before letting out a sigh. Well now that meeting was done for a while, maybe he should head home for the day? His two cats, Yoko and Niko, must be really fussy and hungry by now. They were asleep during the whole trip here to Shibuya today. They only had to stay here for another month before going back home to Osaka once another meeting his over. He felt bad for traveling so much. He was pretty sure his fluffy children were tired. But it was the only way to meet up with his editor before he leaves to go overseas soon. Speaking of traveling, maybe once work has calm down some, he can go visit Inaba. It would be nice to go see his second home again.
That thought made the worldâs hero form a small smile on his face. He puts his phone away inside of his black dress pants pocket (He was also wearing white button up short sleeve shirt with the collar upward and frame-less glasses).Â
But before he could think about anymore plan trips, he heard a voice. Huh? Was that Yosukeâs voice? No, this boy looks different. It almost looks like him, but he looked way too different. His hair. His eyes. And he looked younger then the Yosuke he knows of now.Â
Even while summer slogs on, Yosuke is still hard at work. Thereâs an annoyed grumble at one of the part-timers whoâs asking him about not working this weekend, they arenât feeling well, blah blah â the manager just shrugs, smiles, and warns them that they only have so many sick days and to take it up with HR if thereâs a complaint they want to make.
On tearing himself away from customers and clocking himself out for lunch, Yosuke takes off his nametag, tucks it into one of his pockets, and heads for the food court.
âHey!â he calls out, jogging over towards a familiar face. âSorry I took a little longer than usual. Everyoneâs pulling at me today, haha. Uh, what was that? I didnât quite catch itâŚ?â
Thereâs an odd feeling of nostalgia in his chest, being here at the old headquarters with a member of the IT.
Yu took out his smartphone to go over what time he had to call his editor. They were asking for what ideas he had in mind for his next book. Having his childrenâs book series being a hit so far, he thought of stepping into writing fantasy novels for teens and adults as well.Â
After hearing a voice of the magician, Yu put his smartphone away to greet his partner. âItâs alright. I wasnât waiting long. Hm? Oh, sorry. I was thinking back on a few things when we all used to come here.â Â
Honestly he couldnât help but think back when IT was all here. Him, Yosuke, Chie, Yukiko, Kanji, Teddie, Rise, and Naoto. They all were here during their teen years, trying to solve a murder mystery case to fighting fake versions of themselves or other persona users to being asked to dance at a festival by Rise with other idols. There were so many memories that he couldnât trade for the world.Â
âHow have you been, Manger-san? Has the prince become a king yet?â Yu said jokingly, âJokes aside, how is everything here?â

Another day, another chance to make money for food. The work Michio does isnât glamorous by any means, but they enjoy it well enough.Â
Today, they are stocking vegetables in the grocery department. As they set the last of the cabbages on the display, they step back and admire their handiwork. Yo-Senpai would be proud of this display. They are proud of this display.Â
âHm hm~ moving on.â They say to themselves as they make their way over to the nearly empty display of green onions.
Green onions. Green onions. Where were they at again? Junes always seems to be moving things around and donât stay in the same place theyâre always at. He needed those green onions for tonightâs dinner with the Dojimas.Â
Nanako want him to get the ingredients while she tries to convince her father of staying home from work. She was really excited to her big bro again every month that he visits this town. So she really wanted everyone together before Yu had to leave.
Then he notice someone wearing a teal shirt and a hat. Did they look familiar to the silver haired man? He couldnât tell with their backs turn to him. Maybe they know where the green onions are at?Â
âExcuse me? Do you work here in this department?âÂ
The silver haired man just arrive to Inaba from the train station. Normally every month since Yu started traveling, he makes sure to stop by Inaba to visit the Dojimas and a few of his friends. Heâs been pretty busy since he became a writer and sold his first childrenâs book series, the adventures of kuma-kuma and the golden angel. He is now working on a fantasy novel base on his adventures as a persona user. He might have to change names and a few other things around. But it was way for everyone to have an autobiography of sorts. Even if people wouldnât believe a world inside of a TV, shadows or personas, it would be just him and his friends enjoying it. It was still going to be awhile before he finishes it, so it was best to keep under his hat for awhile. Like a surprise.Â
The world takes his smartphone and makes a text to the first person he saw in his contacts list. Yosuke. He wonders how his partner was doing lately. Itâs been awhile since they spoke last. Maybe he should go to Junes? He was getting hungry anyway. Instead of texting or calling the magician, he was just going to surprising him by showing up. So Yu puts his phone away and made sure the bagâs strap was still over his shoulder before making his way to Junes.Â
// going to go play Yakuza 3 for awhile! But leave a like on this post if you would a small starter for 10YL!Yu! My IMâs should be open if you would like to plot or ask me anything! But my replies will be slow while playing Y3(And being thirsty for majima I mean what?). Â
The silver haired man was sitting at a table at Junes. The umbrella at the table was up to give Yu much more shade from the sun. For being a summer day, it was nice to have a glass of iced oolong tea next to him while he went over the pictures he took on his last trip to Okinawa. The beaches were really pretty, he thought. Yu was waiting for a friend of his to show up. He thought about sending them a message, but he wanted to give them another seven minutes before trying to reach them. So the world takes another slip of his oolong tea and look around the area. Junes has change since his last visit. It does have a lot more people. Both old and young are here. It was nice to see Inabaâs town people and Junes working together. Inaba seems a lot more brighter in a way.
â...We should have another meeting again one day.â Yu said before taking another sip of his tea as memories replay events in his head. Mostly of everyone who was here at that time ten years ago.
He was hoping this wasnât mistaken someone as Yu, and sure enough when he turned around he got a look at him. Yu look like almost the same other than he look..older. It has been ten years, of course he would age too. It still stuck him of how much he depended on seeing the same faces at his bar. Time there doesnât move too quickly, or was it time doesnât move through people?
âOh wow, you forgotten my name already? Damn I shouldâve wore a name tag haha.â Although that was ill-advised around this time, they were still resentful but he canât help it.Â
ââŚAlmost didnât recognize you, haha lost all thatâŚÂ âbaby fatâ I see.âÂ
It was strange to see a man who once upon a time hated this small town and wanted to go back to the city. But that was before Adachi was sent to jail for the murders years ago. So to the silver haired man, it was strange to see him here again. But he didnât know what happen over the years. He did send letter to the other back when he was in college and Adachi was still in jail(Far as Yu knew), but didnât hear back from him too much. Which should have been expected since the much older man was stubborn as mule. Still in some way he still believe their bond was still as strong the day he read Adachiâs letter from his first visit to Inaba.
Normally when the man was younger, he would get mad at comments like those.Â
However, he grew wiser and came up with a few come backs a long the way.Â
âWell I almost didnât recognize you either, I donât remember you wearing bigger clothes.â

As Yu got older, his eye sight started to get a little bad and he had a lot of headaches. In the video game, there is an option to solo run inside of the domains in the TV world. In my headcanon, there has been a lot of the times Yu would go by his self to for fill requests by people at school or the fox at the shrine. Yu thought the TV worldâs fog might have something to do with this because normal glasses werenât working for him. They help with his eye sight, but they donât help with the headaches. So Yu asked Teddie a pair of glasses like the ones he used to wear when he was younger. And just like that, the headaches never came back and his eye sight was much better then before. So Teddie made him two pairs of glasses. One was the normal TV world glasses he used to wear when he was younger and another pair with no frames. Â
With the sun bearing down on him and humidity on the rise, he was glad he wasnât wearing a suit or worst a multi-layer yukata. He held the paper bag containing two bottles of alcohol close to his chest as he walked down the side street. Hopefully tonightâs patrons wouldnât be so rowdy like the last time, they broke two bottles and with their reimbursement managed to buy two identical ones back from the closest liquor store. Midway, he scans the street taking in the all too familiar sights; that person is still talking with their neighbour, kids chasing each other⌠then he spots a man with a mope of grey hair.Â
Huh⌠With a small smile, he holds the paper bag by the handles and held it securely in his left. With a few careful and quiet steps he approaches the man from behind.Â
To say Yu was surprise to hear a voice he havenât heard in years was a little understatement. It was like someone put an ice cube on the back of your neck as a joke. The world couldnât help but turn around to see a familiar man who cause Yuâs eyes to slightly widen in surprise. Tohru Adachi, the last person Yu have ever thought he would see here in Inaba. Should he clear his glasses to see if that was really him? Or pinch himself on the arm to see if he was dreaming this?
But he wasnât seeing things or sleeping. This man was really here, sneaking up behind him like a snake would. That jerk, the rude man thought to himself. How old would he be now? Thirty-seven or Thirty-eight? Something like that.
â...Some guy my uncle is friends with for awhile. Whatâs his name again?â
A sliver haired man was looking over his smart phone while standing by the elevators at Junes. Yu Narukami had been traveling since he became a writer of few fantasy novels and children book series, looking for ideas of what to write about. But every once in awhile (or three times a month), the world would come to Inaba and visit his friends and family. Itâs what he calls his real home. It was nice to see everyone again even if they also went off to different paths in life. His cousin Nanako is in high school now and his uncle was still a detective, but he started to quit smoking. Or at least heâs trying to, but Nanako makes sure to give him an ear full about it.
â..I wonder if heâs been keeping touch with them.â Yu said to his self when a thought cross his mind.

I did wonder if it was going to get ugly before a girl in green raise her hand and asked if I could sit next to her since the seat was empty. It was a nice save on her part. Kind of help me relax a little in this small plain town. But it didnât stay relaxing for long. From murders to rumors to a fantasy like world inside of a TV to finally the Personas.Â
Oh, did I talk about a bear name Teddie yet?Â
Crazy? I know, but stay with me on this.
Not too long when I move there, two people were murder. A news reporter who was caught in a scandal and a third year student that was going to the same school as me. Yosuke really took it hard after his senpaiâs death. I think he had a huge crush on her. But he was pushed enough to wanting to know how and why the rumors of the midnight channel were link together inside of the TV world at Junes. When me and Yosuke went to that world the second time, a bear name Teddie thought we did it. But he asked us to find out who did, thatâs when I understood the words that were once said to me by a man with a long nose in a beautiful place cover in blue. A great misfortune will be upon me and itâs up to me to solve it. So I made a promise with Yosuke and Teddie that we solve this case together.Â
Thatâs when we learn the truth to what really happen to the victims. They were killed by their own shadows. I guess you wouldnât know what shadows are? Shadows are a side that is part of our selves. A side that we either donât want to know that is there or a side we feel ashamed of. Everyone has one. But if you denied your shadow or wait till the fog disappears on side of the TV world(and the fog is in our world),the shadows will go berserk and kills the host. And the host ends up on our world somewhere, dead. The same thing almost happens to Yosuke and myself. That is till we both unlock a strange power by âfacing yourselfâ called a persona. I guess you can say itâs like unlocking your power from within. I remember how I got my persona. It was different from the others. I heard a voice called out to me and I held a card in my hand. When I felt that power flowing into me, I felt like glass and wanted to break into tiny pieces. It felt insane when I summon Izanagi for the first time. Like being a dream seeing yourself as a superhero. I wonder what the others felt when they summon their personas for the first time?Â
Oh yeah, there were more people joining us as me and the investigation team. A delinquent who seems tough on the outside, but really likes cute things on the inside, an Idol who wants be loved for being her true self, and a detective who wanted to be seen as someone who can carry on her family name, not a child playing detective. All we wanted was to catch the murderer and find the truth to all this. We were willing to risk so much by reaching out further and further. And in the end, we found it. We had to face so much hardships, Fighting someone who hid behind the lies they made, and a puppet master who was really pulling the strings behind everything.Â
I almost became her puppet. I didnât want to leave Inaba. I didnât want to see my friends hurt. I wanted to keep this power of bonds I had. I was willing to turn a blind eye and let the world be cover in fog if it meant staying with my friends and the Dojimas. A woman from the velvet room woke me from my fake world and I snap out of it when she asked me to fight her. I did what she asked of me and while I was fighting her, I face my shadow. I confess to what my true feelings were. The shadow return to me as Izanagi. I defeated Margaret and Marie, a girl who once lost her memories and a part Izanami threw away, beg me to save everyoneâs wishes with my power of the world. I unleash it once I face the goddess of death again. Izanagi-No-Okami. The goddess vanish once she understood that mankindâs will can face their own truths, no matter how painful it was. The fog of lies and this case was closed. All of our questions were answered. And we were happy with the truth we found. We all fought like hell for it.Â
My point of telling this story to you, is that as time move on, I started to understand myself. I was such a punk who at first didnât want to get close to anyone out of fear of being disappointed again. And less then a year, I got close to so many people, change my fate so many times and won battles that I didnât think I would have to face. But now, Iâm an author who travels. I went from a child who hated moving to an adult who loved it. I love going around all of Japan to write about places Iâve seen. I was working at a restaurant as a sous-chef. But when my childrenâs book of the adventures of Kuma-kuma and the golden angel became a hit, I knew I had to head to a different path. And I took it. I think itâs okay to still be yourself and change different paths. Even if they are scary sometimes. Thereâs a saying my uncle once said,Â
âThereâs a lot we rather not see. A lot of grime in the human heart. But if you close your eyes to everything, you canât even see the people close to you. How can anyone be happy with that? The only thing to do, really, is to keep marching on, straight ahead.â
I wish I can tell you more stories. But I rather let you let them see for yourself. Remember, youâre not alone anymore. And I wish you nothing but a long happy and peaceful life. With every single bond you make as you grow up. Even with the ones who make their own rules or want to question your worth. Show them how you reach out to the truth of facing your shadows.
Many wishes to you, my younger self,
                                 Narukami Yu.
