!!! I've been saying that forever, too! He doesn't seem to feel any actual resentment toward anyone in particular. It came out very strongly in his second round with Toji (although one might argue that his ‘enlightenment’ may have influenced him there) - he straight out said that he doesn’t hate anyone, that this wasn’t about revenge and apologized to Riko for that. Even with Kenjaku, he was annoyed and maybe enraged, but not really hateful; he didn’t even allow the whole ordeal to weigh him down once he was sealed. The higher-ups are a slippery slope, I guess and he is hostile toward them, mocks them etc... but I’m disinclined to call that hatred. In that context, it’s really jarring, though, how easily he can call out their society for being rotten regardless of that.

It's very interesting to think about.
