IT'S NOT ONLY ROCK N' ROLL, BABY!

That satin jacket is like the summary of all the things I find wrong with HSHQ. They either don’t know or they don’t care and either way it’s lazy marketing.

They could have put that cool Adore You design on it. They could have put some variation of TPWK. Hell, they could have written Styles on the front in cursive writing and i think it would have sold like hotcakes. but instead we get some bland nonsense that reads like a heavy-handed marketing spiel. “Fine Line the new album from Harry Styles” wtf kind of design is that. Who wants to wear that and look like a dude in a sandwich board hocking the daily special?

I’m one of those fans who will buy the higher priced merch/tickets whatever as long as I feel it’s got value but that jacket…..is a solid no. 

I feel like HSHQ is lazy because they don’t need to hustle. Harry does well and they can claim success but much of why harry is successful is because of HARRY. It has nothing to do with fake narratives that don’t make sense or his hobnobbing with Ellen Degeneres. It’s his talent and personality. I feel like HSHQ feels like they can either just put out crap and fans will buy it because it’s harry (and they’re right, many will) or they just haven’t done the market research to see what fans really want (which is lazy because fans have been very vocal about what they want). 

They’re like every man I’ve worked with who thinks he knows better just because he exists and says so and doesn’t want to see the data to make an informed decision or worse just doesn’t care because he knows the project will be alright regardless (while people behind the scenes scramble to fix the shit show). Meanwhile the women at the table are afraid to speak up for fear of looking “irrational” or being called a bitch for pointing out the obvious. 

I know that may seem over the top but it was clear where HSHQ’s priorities were last night and they were on Matt B’s AmEx partnership promo and not on their client and the dumpster fire that was the pre-show madness. A fan with a cellphone did a better job of presenting the livestream than HSHQ and they should feel embarrassed about that but they won’t. And Jeff tweeting his thanks to Harry just rubbed me the wrong way. You’ll never see an apology or an explanation to fans for what was a huge mess. They’ll just keep “existing” because they can. Just like ben, just like james. It’s sad that so many of the people around harry seem to just ride his coattails instead of actually trying to do better for harry and for fans.
