I sometimes look in the mirror and see a scared animal, mangled and frothing at the mouth.

As we move further into these dark times and witness as abhorrent acts of terror are obscenely normalized, this theory becomes profoundly true.

Wilting lilies, rotting pomegranates, a dove with its wings clipped, a unicorn with a cropped horn, or even a previously clear, strongly flowing crystalline river that has now been stained red from spilled blood upstream. I find it all incredibly tragic and I resound with it, in some way or another.

I think it’s important to imprint on everything you experience. Attach meaning to everything, find the beauty or the ugliness in everything, and find pieces of yourself in everything.
