Webcomic Check: Summer 2026
I've been doing these for over a decade now. At some point, you just run out of quirky introductions. Here's webcomics.
Las Lindas: The spring festival is still going on, Ambar is still Epsteining and we have FORCED ROMANCE, FORCED ROMANCE BETWEEN SARAH AND THE STUPID GOAT, and this expression happens.
To think I was so harsh on Knighthood, I had no clue how much worse it could get.
Spinnerette: Oh my fucking god, Dr. Demikhov and his two-headed assistant are back, and they're planning to resurrect dinosaurs. Apparently this is all happening while Greta Gravity is preparing for her wedding with Kraw's self-insert. Yeah thanks for proving the "Spinnerette aims at the channel flipper every single page" theory, you hack. Apparently the two headed assistant is back to working for Demikhov, despite Demikhov abusing her and ruining her life by merging her with her sister. But fucking whatever. Spinnerette isn't about continuity anymore, except when it isn't like uuuuh I dunno, Greta and Universe's wedding which we've built up to for years now.
The artist for this arc is way better than previous arcs, but that isn't saying much. I'm gonna call this artist "The Wedding Planner", and I'd rank them between Fernando and "Grey" in my Spinny artist ranking article thingy.
Monster Girl Academy:
Issue fucking 35, we're at Issue fucking 35. And we now have Zack turning into weresuccubus dullahan as the quirky thing on the month. Calling it now, there's gonna be pussy eating, and what the fuck is going on with another redesign of succubussy Zack?
At this point Kraw's bullshit inspires no emotion in me, maybe Monster Girl World will change that. I still can't believe this fucking DOGSHIT COMIC GOT A FUCKING SPINOFF, oh there we go.
Dolmistaska: PM and Jolene are starting their heist finally, after PM spent few days with their dysfunctional family, but that's not what I wanna talk about, it's...this page.
No this is not a dream, we saw Jolene kiss PM in another page. This...I have several issues with this. PM and Jolene's relationship is a love hate relationship at best, so Jolene coming to PM's bedroom despite many times PM insulted them and Jolene insulted them back, not to mention PM is forced to deal with their shitty parents and the fact they will be ON THEIR OWN once the heist ends, to suddenly write this SHOCKING ATTEMPTED SEX SCENE is really...crass. It comes out of fucking nowhere just like when we saw PM and Corriveau have sex.
And worse than that, this page reminds me of this.
What's the point of this? Honestly, Dolmistaska's been on such a downward spiral since Rolling Tremblay's backstory reveal. I liked the nightmare scene involving PM's guilt about abandoning Dolmistaska, but this scene feels like it happens for the sake of a shock just like anytime this comic tries to be crass.
At least PM turns it down and Jolene doesn't force themselves on PM, but it's like...come on, what happened to actually giving us a view into PM's psyche, the political commentary, what happened to Dolmistaska, the thing the comic is NAMED AFTER???
Look, it's not a dealbreaker, this comic is not suddenly gonna become the worst thing I've ever riffed because of this but...it's a shame.
Legacy of Dominic Deegan:
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, THE DWARF COMEDY HOUR WILL RETURN AFTER THESE MESSAGES.
Okay so, I guess Mookie came to regret the lack of focus dwarves got in the original so Legacy of Dominic Deegan has been giving them a shitton of focus. Also Queen Kit Darling joke goes here, but the thought of mushrooms growing in people's eyes is rather gross. Even now, Mookie loves his body horror.
I suppose I don't have a problem with Legacy of Dominic Deegan being the Dwarf Show, but I'm personally more of a kabouter guy, as the Dutch call them.
Alien Dice: The site's not loading, I'm starting to get worried.
On retrospect, I regret not calling Webcomic Check the "Bastard Watch" since that originated from Dominic Deegan. Maybe I'll do it once Connor does something notable enough to mention.
