Stefan was awoken by the necromancer after being dead for some time. He wasnāt suffering, not that he remembers, but he rather felt as if he had been in the most peaceful sleep of his life. Then he was suddenly awakened and rose up to life thanks to the necromancer. He returned as a human and honestly... Stefan didnāt hate it. The constant appetite was gone, the worst part of himself was gone. Still, he was under the necromancerās spell. He had to be his slave until he found the town where his commands were of no use and he directed himself there. He arrived hopeful that he wouldnāt be controlled only to realize that his previous life had been turned upside down. He was alive, but everything had changed. When he arrived he found Damon and Elena, which made him happy, but he also found Caroline with Klaus. He wanted her to move on when he died but it still hurt to see him with another person. He wasnāt about to ruin her happiness, so he decided to move on with his life. He married Valerie and had children with her. One of the perks of the town was that supernatural beings could procreate and that meant Valerie could have kids. He do not want to get out since everyone he knows lives here and his family is here. Around two years ago, the necromancer sent Stefan a gift from his part. One of his previous victims from his ripper phase rose from the dead and his sole purpose was to make Stefanās life miserable. They arrived in town and erased the memory of the past thirty years, so Stefan divorced Valerie after that since he didnāt remember marrying her or having children and went into hiding since his mind was so empty and he was so confused. He just entered town again but still doesnāt know a lot of things. The only notion he has of the past thirty-two years was that he was married, he has children and he got divorced, but thatās it. Due to recent events and the earthquake, Stefan was in an accident where a building collapsed and he died, triggering his vampire gene and transforming him back into one. So he is dealing with things as a new vampire.Ā
