No shade to makoxxlip/wlwmk, but I’m honestly glad she doesn’t ship makorra anymore and deleted her tumblr and twitter accounts. Sorry, but she went way too far with the asami hate and contributed to making makorra shippers look bad. Her art was nice, but her behavior as an artist was way too toxic. Makorra was already heavily hated and stereotyped, and she only added more fuel to those perceptions. At this point, I don’t think she can separate her art from that reputation because her art style became associated with her behavior. I’m glad she moved on from the fandom and the makorra community.

Why is across the spiderverse trending? You guys had me freaking out thinking I missed something, then I checked and it was nothing but irrelevant posts or people talking about the other spiderman that is actually trending. 🙄 You guys had me shook for no reason.

There’s some irony around makorra in fandom discourse. I know makorra is hard to avoid because it was such a major part of the earlier seasons, but I still find it interesting seeing people bring it up on random days without being prompted by shippers. What’s interesting about makorra is that it often remains part of broader fandom conversations. From my own observations, a noticeable amount of unprompted discussion about the ship comes from people who dislike it, which I find interesting. I’m not saying makorra shippers never bring it up first or that criticism always comes out of nowhere. Obviously, that happens too. My point is that there are also times when the ship gets brought into conversations by people who dislike it, without shippers being the ones to start the discussion. I’m not saying every anti talks about the ship or even thinks about it regularly. I’m just pointing out that there are some who continue to bring it into conversations where the ship wasn’t necessarily the focus. Whether it’s a harmless one time mention or a larger discussion, lol.

I severely underestimated how popular gutsca is because that ship stays going viral on instagram 😭. I’m sorry, but I’m used to shipping fanon ships that are either unpopular, niche, or straight up rarepairs, so this is my first time experiencing a ship that’s both canon and massively popular at the same time 😅.

Is there any legend of korra update blogs that aren’t biased toward ships and just keep it professional by posting korra updates? I just want an account to follow without all the fandom ship discourse attached to everything.
