foreman hate is genuinely just racism im not even joking.
if you hate him cause hes a robot then you havent watched yhe fucking show. yeah he can seem apathetic at times, but he cares. he cares so much. he risks his medical license, the thing hes worked for, fought tooth and nail to get, the reputation and approval he cares about so much. he risks it in the drug trials for thirteen and with chase and dibala. for people he cares about. he's also one of the smartest characters on the team.
so many people also mischaracterise his ambition for cruelty. he wants to get things yes thats true. he is not needlessly cruel in order to get them. he wanted to be dean but he waited til there was an opportunity. we cant even say the same about chase, who ratted house out to vogler at the very start for his own benefit. house is needlessly cruel, too. foreman is not.
also the whole part that he got chosen as dean. yes, he applied too but anyone could have taken that spot. especially within the context of him bring a former fellow of house people would have been wary because they know how unethical house and his team can be. the difference with foreman is he has a strong moral compass. ultimately he always wants to do the right thing. he always does.
people always hate on him for being an emotionless robot too. i think he's just so so so repressed. he cares he cares he cares (see para. one). he cries and screams and is scared when hes about to die in euphoria. we see him happy at chases bachelor party we see him smiling and laughing and cracking jokes all the time. where did these baseless claims even come from?
HE LITERALLY LEAVES THE FUCKING HOSPITAL. he leaves the highly acclaimed job working under house because he believed he no longer practiced medicine with the empathy a doctor should have.
and people commenting about his ego dont put ANYTHING into context. he is a person of colour who had to face racial prejudice and injustice and was questioned about his right to attend a good university and stuff. he grew up in a middle class background and he had a brother in prison and a juvie record. his ego is not so much ego rather than desire to prove himself. moreso, when we see chase try to do this, we all accept that it is need to prove himself. why not foreman??
also his confidence in his abilities really should not be doubted cause he is an incredibly intelligent guy, and arguably thr most qualified. chase got in on his fathers money and cameron cause she was pretty. what about foreman?? he is one of the most rational members of the team and whenever he has a case where he knows there might be bias he either corrects or learns.
he is also so much more open to learning than most. he learns about thirteen's bisexuality, makes an effort to understand (the rocky road conversation). he grows to respect chase and be friends with him despite their previous rivalry. he asks cameron for forgiveness and grows closer to her. he doesnt have to kiss everyone and makeout to prove that hes grown as a character and stopped disliking them.
also the repression that he has which is blamed as "emotionless" is reallt just a result of his isolation. cameron and chase had one another, his mother was being taken care of his father, house wouldve used anything he said against him. who did he have? who did he have to talk to??? thats why he had so many problems expressing himself with thirteen after kutner
i love foreman so much okay. any hate about him is just ridiculous fucking double standards or a result of no one watching the goddamn show.
