          cherry - stain lips  part above the false pretense of a perpetually - hitched throat.  (  i’m not scared ,  i promise !  being on this end of the knife is so much more redeeming.  )  the pair dance against  the precipices of violence  and adonis flashes him a vibrant ,  provocative smile.  how sweet it would be if he did him a favor and made the first cut.  

             there is a break ,  then ,  and the timorousness that once permeated their almost - exchange transforms into a sort of patronizing threat ,  warm huff of disdain blown right into adonis’ face that leaves something bitter on the tip of his tongue.
