“That you guys are obviously the best thing for us.” Yevgeny smiled brightly, obviously kissing ass. He hoped it was smooth enough to give Ian some comfort. Ian and the Gallagher’s were definitely the most fun and loving attachment to Yevgeny’s life.

He puffed out a sigh, scratching the back of his neck. It was still a smartass remark and one he still wasn’t sure what to make out of despite Yev’s clarification. “You’re going to get out of the house, get a good job, and go meet someone that you love and you’ll take care of each other. That’s how love works.”

Yevgeny kept the ‘before or after they’re married’ comment to himself. “That sounds like a lotta work. Why does dad get you all to himself?”

Ian raised his brow, walking over to Yev and tilting his head back slightly, patting him on his cheek lightly like he did when he was a kid. “I’ve helped take care of you for a long time. Your dad is just stuck with me. Don’t you want to get out and meet people?”

Yevgeny wrinkled his nose at Ian’s petting. He’s been trying to get him to stop since he was thirteen. “I meet people all the time. They ain’t worth shit.” He tried to not look so cold as he told ian this.

He sat down in one of the chairs putting his elbow on the table and gave Yevgeny one of his questioning looks. “You clearly have a thing for redheads. I mean like father like son?” Ian smirked, replaying the many nicknames Mickey had called him over the years because of his stupid red hair. “Do you have a crush on someone? Are you avoiding it? Because that runs in the family too.”
