How come in Fantasy stories, Ancient prophecies are always considered to be one hundred percent factual.

like when there’s a prophecy from 4 decades ago, stating that no mortal can kill High Lord Grumflorb, and then a mortal kills it anyway, have we ever considered that perhaps it’s not that this guy is a demigod, but just that the 40 year old monks just had no fucking clue what they were talking about
