I need you, allies of transfems, and some transfems themselves, to stop considering the backlash against transandrophobia theory “infighting”. Misandry is not real, trans men are opressed because they are trans, not men. The rethorical goal of transandrophobia has been time and time again to argue for some sort of man-specific opression, and to erase and speak over transfeminine experiences. To consider it “infighting” is an openly misogynistic consideration, one in which the woman who fights against the force of patriarchy that empowers men is simply bitching, muddling the water for no reason.

i also hate when trans men respond to criticism by saying “trans men don’t have full access to male privilege” because while i technically agree by ending the conversation there it elevates trans men to this unique position when like okay, but disabled men don’t have full access to male privilege either, gay men don’t have full access to male privilege, black men definitely don’t have full access to male privilege, but what matters is that within our own communities we hold power over women who are similarly marginalized (in our case trans women) and it is our responsibility to recognize that and utilize the privilege we do have to protect and elevate those who experience the intersection of being a woman and also [insert other oppressed class]
