GLAZED LP1 STUDIO BLOG - DAY 7
Tallahassee, Fla. - This is the final stretch. Tomorrow is supposed to be our last recording day. We still have to record five songs on vocals, back up vocals, keys and lead guitars to 6 songs. haha
We’re too broke to buy creamer, so we’re drinking our coffee black. Will probably snag a handful at a gas station tomorrow.Â
Fun Fact: Reid and I are wearing Crocs right now.
I’m going home to Jacksonville tomorrow. Also is it acceptable for bands to put skits in albums?
Peace out world,
JB

GLAZED LP 1 STUDIO BLOG - DAY 6
Valdosta Ga. - Okay, so we’re just a bit behind schedule. Losing one day of recording really fucked us and now we’re paying for it. I recorded and finished rhythm guitar, even started vocals. We still haven’t started lead guitar.Â
The commute from Tallahassee is dichotomous. In the morning, it’s colorful, the road is smooth and the sky is mostly blue. But at night it’s dark as hell, the roads are skinnier and brown truck behind you reminds you not to take a wrong turn.Â
After finishing guitar, Lee and I spent two hours trying microphones until we agreed on a CAD with a gold grille. Hell yeah. We then finished the night by tracking vocals for three songs. Tomorrow (which is technically today?) we’re going to do more vocals and hopefully all of Reid’s guitar.Â
Man, recording a full length in a week is hard. But we’re going to push until we’re satisfied with everything.Â
GLAZED LP 1 STUDIO BLOG - DAY 5
So this is a day late haha but better late then never. We started off the day with the usual drive to Valdosta from Tally but this time we picked up a dozen donuts! We got to the studio and Justin started on more of his guitar parts. Brian and I once again took the time to play massive amounts of GTA 5 making it a goal to steal a jet from the military base before tanks blew us up. We are still working on that goal haha While Justin was working on guitar the low E string decided to not stay in tune. He literally spent 45 minutes tuning one string. I almost snapped. We changed the string and everything was golden. He knocked out a total of 7 songs. Brian and I drank Colt 45's and went to the Valdosta library. That was one of the weirdest places we've ever been to. Lee told us all of the food in the freezer was up for grabs so naturally I decided to go ham. After a frozen burrito, jambalaya, frozen lasagna, and some liquid potatoes with bourbon steak my stomach absolutely hated me. I drove us back putting my iPod on shuffle and every song that came on was perfect. No skips. We got back to Tallahassee and just hung out til we went to sleep. That's it for day 5. - Reid Paul
Here's to the new LP. JBXRP
GLAZED LP1 STUDIO BLOG - DAY 4
Welp. Today was pretty shitty. Brian and I made are way to Valdosta from Tallahassee and once again I slept the whole way, sorry Brian haha, and we got there around 10:55am. Things started great! We knocked out all of the bass and got like 1.9 songs done for rhythm guitar when Mother Nature decided it was time to end this ambitious fourth day of recording. Around 3pm all of the power went out in the studio and we waited patiently for it to come back on. The estimated time of reconnection was 4:30 but of course that didn't happen. We decided to take shots of rum and hang out with our good friend GB while we worked on some keyboard parts on one of Lee's pianos. Around 7 o'clock when hunger, heat, and monotony got the best of us we called it an early day and made our way back to Tallahassee. The day had so much potential but Georgia's weather had other plans. I took Brian and Justin to Momo's Pizza for the first time and we got ourselves some slices. After the hunger was handled we headed to my new house near FSU and saw my roommates, one of them had just gotten into his 2nd fist fight of the week. We chilled for a sec and then moved all of my shit from my storage unit AKA a friend's house, into a Uhaul. My roommates left for a party and we were left locked out of the new house so we decided to meet them at the party. We drank some beers, played some beer pong, and came back home where I moved all of my belonging into my new room box by box. Skylor brought home 2 pizzas which was clutch af, I showered, and then Sky and I dropped off the Uhaul and headed home. Now I'm here in my bed, tired af, but content with life. Rest easy y'all! - 4:20am - Reid Paul
GLAZED LP 1 STUDIO BLOG - Day 3.5
So Justin already touched on today but I figured I'd add a few things. Liam, Brian, and I drove to Valdosta from Tallahassee and I slept the whole way. Today was pretty boring for Justin and I because all we were recording was bass. So we filled the void with more Grand Theft Auto, fried chicken, and perfecting guitar parts for when we record. Things are going well! Upon leaving we talked a lot about the importance of mixing and mastering and ended up leaving the studio at 11.... Whoops. We also realized we had skipped one song on bass so we gotta handle that first thing tomorrow. Double whoops. I'm so hyped to release this record! I hope at least one person out there is hyped as well! - Reid Paul

GLAZED LP 1 STUDIO BLOG - DAY 3
Valdosta, Ga. - Murphy’s law don’t got anything on Glazed. Seriously, we are on schedule!Â
Day three began with gray skies, heavy rain, light hail, wet roads and bass guitar. Recording music can be trying at times. Especially when you’re playing the same song over and over and over and over again until you hook the golden take. But all we can do is hope the public will enjoy it, because we’re putting 110% of our willpower into this record.Â
There’s a total of 10 songs, possibly 11. We’re rerecording four songs from & Confused. Why? Because we want to give them the quality we know they deserve. See, songs are like children, they grow up, get weird, make mistakes and learn from them. In other words, even our old songs aren’t exactly the songs we recorded in St. Augustine last summer. There are subtle changes we made to them that give them a fresher angle.
So, how about the new songs? I would say we wrote them with a pop sensible mindset, while remembering our roots at the same time. They are still punk rock af, but with pinches of the right amount of mass appeal - a song called “Tyler’s Song” is perhaps the black sheep compared to our entire discography. It’s a song Skylor Leblanc and I wrote in his attic two or so years ago while in a short-lived band called Brat Pack. Sidenote: The only show we ever played was with Joyce Manor (NAME DROP) three years ago. We had a three-song set list that consisted of a Kid Dynamite cover and two original songs. One being “Tyler’s Song” and the other being “Chelsea, Lately.”
We ate Hip Hop Chicken for dinner. I’m starting to think our band’s favorite food is fried chicken. Seriously. We are always down to eat fried chicken.Â
Tomorrow, we start guitar - the moment Reid and I have been waiting for these past three days. There are many guitars to choose from, most can be heard on fairly well-known songs, too.............. Will we base our selection on superstition???? Find out tomorrow!

GLAZED LP1 STUDIO BLOG - DAY 2
VALDOSTA, Ga. - Today was pretty chill to say the least. Justin turned 22 so he spent the day back in Jax doing work and shit. When we got to the studio we knocked out the last 3 songs on drums, 2 of which are brand spanking new af. As in we've never jammed them as a full band together. After that Lee, mastermind of Earthsound Studios, spent a handful of hours editing the drums to perfection so we could start the bass portion. Austin of Ooze Records provided us with delicious pizza that we munched on during the whole process. Liam occupied himself for literally 3-4 hours playing on this app called Flinch. Brian and I played a shit ton of Grand Theft Auto which was awesome. Shout out to Brian for bringing his PS4. We started bass and got 3 songs done and the tone is incredible. Lee showed us demos from Mayday Parade's A Lesson in Romantics and I cried a little on the inside. His stories of all the legendary bands that have recorded there are inspiring and hilarious. We are all super stoked for the next week as we finish our super under-hyped debut LP which has yet to have a consistent name! Now the 3 of us are heading back to Tallahassee to stay the night with three Colt 45 forty ounces in hand. Turn up! Check back tomorrow for a post about day #3.

GLAZED LP1 STUDIO BLOG - DAY 1
VALDOSTA, Ga. -- Setting drums up to record looks difficult. There’s a certain amount of geography, physics and bending over involved in carefully placing microphones in sonic g-spots. Yes, the process can be arduously time consuming. But that isn’t the case when it comes to Lee Dyess - the brains behind Glazed’s first LP.
Ladies and gentlemen, we are working with the same man who sliced, cooked and served a handful of influential albums like From First To Last’s Dear Diary..., and a couple Mayday Parade EPs. Now, we can only hope he still has the magic touch. He seems like a cool guy based on our conversations in the studio earlier. We seem to have a mutual love for The Get Up Kids and watching Key and Peele.Â
Lee told us a creative way bands have paid their dues is by thoughtfully crafting penis drawings on a piece of white computer paper. “Spongebob Square Balls,” “Master Chode” and “Edward Dicksforhands” sit stacked on each other inside of a drawer next to Lee’s editing bays. I’m not sure what our angle on drawing a penis will be, but I’m sure we’ll figure something out.
Earthsound Studio is easy to miss. The yellow-brown paint, few windows, and nearby businesses camouflage the studio’s legacy. I mean, it’s crazy to think that a 15-year-old Sonny Moore (who became fucking Skrillex) sat on the same black couch I did. Lee said Sonny was messing around with electronic music back in the day, but that no one really took it seriously. WELP. Now look at him.
We’re using most of Lee’s equipment - drums, guitars, bass, strings, toilet paper: everything. Ooze Records really hooked it up.Â
Tomorrow we will finish drums and start tracking bass. I’m not sure when the album will be released yet, but the fall is a realistic option. If you’re interested in staying visually updated, follow us on Instagram @Glazedfl. If words are more your thing, check back here tomorrow for textual update. Thanks for reading this!

i am SO excited to be doing this :)
Would anyone be interested in a day-by-day re account of our tour last summer? We seriously had the best time of our lives and it was our first tour ever. There were a lot of close calls, alcohol and B-). I would be completely objective in my reporting of the ridiculousness that occurred.Â
