A grin pulled at his lips, a bit lopsided and definitely unchecked.  “Training accident.  Was tryin’ a new grip and smacked myself in the face.”  At least he was good-natured about it!

An incredulous silver brow arches when she speaks. “A training—” She pauses, accentuating the echoed words with a slow nod, “—accident.” Her tone is caught somewhere between a scoff and exasperated amusement. She isn’t quite sure what to think of him or his peculiar training regimen should there be truth in his words.

She shifts her weight from one leg to the other in her stance, arms folding across her chest. “You sure it was just a training accident handsome? Not some scorned lover? Word has it you’ve been breaking hearts all over Lestallum.”
