"Fair enough. But while I don’t necessarily agree with the whole incest thing, Zeus still made a promise of loyalty by marrying her.” She pauses, then grins. “Actually, power to the mortal woman who gave him the herpes— she took down a god in one fell swoop!”

Henry's eyebrows shot up in surprise first which were then followed by his mouth widening into a huge grin. "Yes she did...and she must have known who he was and yet she said nothing before hand. That's a brave woman to risk Zeus' wrath." 

 ”Ah, that’s cool! My family used to go to Japan all the time when I was younger, I don’t remember much of it but my older brother was kind of obsessed with the mythos.” At the question, Hiro clutched his stomach protectively and reluctantly admitted to being a chicken. ”No, dude! I was three, there was no way I was risking it!”

"In other words, your brother liked to use his knowledge of those myths to scare you. You just got to love family!" Whether it was a sibling or a parent, there was always that one person that liked to use stories like that. "But dude, now you're older so next chance you get, you should confront it! Unless you're actually worried your belly button will get eaten."

"A joke? Why yes, I love jokes. It is always nice to laugh at least once a day." Wendy spoke with a small smile listening to him speak, though as he continued her eye brow quirked and her smile dimming, tilting her head as he finished. "Oh gosh um..well I’m sure that won’t be a nice surprise..charming." Wendy spoke quietly after a moment of silence, forcing a small laugh out of common courtesy. 

When Henry had told the joke, he was trying to be witty and fun, he didn't even think to be careful of who he was talking to and by the time he finished it was too late. "Oh. Um." Henry saw it in her face, she didn't like it. "I should apologize shouldn't I? That was, that was inappropriate." Henry was now rubbing the back of his neck like he usually did when he was at a loss for words. "I didn't even stop to think that humor is different for everyone."

“I feel like I wouldn’t be able to just go home after graduation. I know Mother misses me and she’d want me to come home but I just don’t feel ready at all to settle down to being in just one place. That may be a bad thing because I should be grown up and wanting to settle down, well that’s what mother would say”

"Then don't go home. That seems simple enough to me. Forget what your mother would say and think about what the little voice in your head is saying. Surely that will help you in figuring out where it is you're meant to be." 

"Serves Zeus right… He’s kind of a giant sky-jerk, all things considered."

"He's an incredible jerk! But I guess that comes with being the greatest god out there. No one can tell him no." Not that it was something to admire.

"But, wait.." She frowned, her brows furrowing in confusion. "I don’t.. I don’t get it."

Henry was taking a sip of water when he heard his cousin and his eyes nearly bugged out. Sitting there, Henry was scrambling for an answer inside his head, but it seemed to only make him more and more uncomfortable.

"Probably serves him right, sneaking around with all those mortal women when he has a wife at home— a goddess, at that," Jasmine grins.

"Won't argue with you there." Henry was surprised to get such a strong reaction and his cheeks became slightly red from embarrassment. "She was his sister too. Both don't exactly have the best moral compass."

Genie blinked for a few seconds before laughing; God, he was laughing loud and hard. His bag hit the ground behind him and he was holding his sides as he laughed. “Holy shit, dude.” He breathed before looking up at the other boy. “That was gold, you got any more?”

Henry's smile widened, glad that it wasn't a complete failure of a joke as he leaned down and grabbed the guy's bag from the ground. He then proceeded to wipe off any dirt before handing it back over to him.

Belle beamed, perking up immediately. “I pride myself on my ability to recollect books, and would be thrilled to be able to put my knowledge to good use!” Her eyes sparkled— although she was now far from the village that gave her love of literature heavy sighs, she’d still yet to find many people who appreciated it. Laughing, she adds, “Oh, certainly— I’ll be sure to keep you only reading ones you’ll enjoy!”

"Thanks! That is very generous of you." Henry grinned. Though he wouldn't be able to say what were his exact favorites until there was trial and error. Either way he was looking forward to learning something new. "Hopefully nothing too big. I am a slow reader unfortunately." 

"Jesus Christ." She muttered when he almost dropped the coffee, rolling her eyes and laughing softly, still grinning when she replied. "You’re an idiot."
