Today, I decided to create a poster promoting a cupcake business that I created to show my creative skills with the use of canva. I also set my self a word limit of 75 for the caption:

This is a short video I created to raise awareness of global warming 🌍. Its a real thing and it is destroying habitats and lives.

A recent study shows that by 2100, it is likely that there will be local extinctions of polar bears from some parts of the arctic. Polar bears rely on sea ice habitats to hunt, live, breed, and in some cases, create maternal dens, there are knock-on effects for polar bears because there is less sea ice and the permafrost is melting. 🐻‍❄

In 2022, 68,988 wildfires burned 7.6 million acres 🌲. This shows there were more forest fires in 2022 alone compared to 2013-2022, that alone is concerning. NASA's Terra and Aqua satellites detect active wildfires twice each day. Scientists studied this data over a 21-year span and found that extreme wildfires have become more frequent, more intense, and larger.

'What you throw away doesn't'

I made this poster to raise awareness of the plastic pollution in the ocean and how it affects marine life 🌊. 100,000 marine mammals die every year due to plastic pollution, and all we as a society need to do is recycle ♻️, use reusable water bottles 💦, cook more at home 🧑🏼‍🍳and use eco-friendly packaging 📦.

All seven sea turtle species 🐢 are endangered due to plastic pollution whether that's by consuming or getting entangled in plastic. According to WWF Australlia "An estimated 640,000 tonnes of the 8 million tonnes of plastic that enters the oceans every year is so-called ghost fishing equipment, gear that’s either deliberately jettisoned or washed from ships or shorelines." 🎣
