Iguano // Arena Day Two // Ignacius and Juno
Juno had apparently noticed his reaction to what she had called him, for she made a comment about it before informing him about the various different deaths. He was surprised that Pearl was already dead, but glad, for he didnât have to worry about her running around anymore. The smallest twinge of sadness at his district partner being dead. She had been fairly nice on the train. But other than that, he didnât feel anything for those that had fallen. He watched as Juno began cutting up a snake next to him, and offered to share, whilst also asking if he had any. Ignacius pulled out a portion of the deer meat, as well as his sponsor ask, and began cutting it into strips.Â
âIâve got some deer meat here. It cooked overnight on this hot ground, so itâs safe to eat now. I could share some of this with you, especially since your sharing some of your snake meat with me.â He continued to cut up the meat as he spoke. âThanks for filling me in on the fallen. Without that information, I would have just assumed we were all alive until proven otherwise. As for the nicknameâŚâ Ignaciusâs words wandered off, and his eyes looked at the slaughtered deer that were behind them. His mind started wandering, and he zoned off, eyes going blank, until Juno called him back to the present. âUmmâŚitâs just aâŚwellâŚitâsâŚletâs just say thatâŚitâs basicallyâŚummâŚitâs aâŚitâs a thing from my pastâŚandâŚummâŚitâs just aâŚuhâŚkind ofâŚ.wellâŚsensitive area.â
He avoided catching Junoâs eyes as he passed half of the deer meat that he had just cut up to her.
âThatâs real kind of you, thanks.â Pulling the deer meat towards her, she brushed off his words noticing that he was stuttering. She didnât need or want an explanation it was after all something that caused him some distress if he winced at it and was reacting in this way. âItâs alright. I get it. It wonât happen again.â She didnât spend much time speculating whether it was something to do with his family or school because for all she knew it could have been even deeper than that and there were things that some people just didnât want to talk about.
âThanks.â Taking the deer meat, she put it in her bag for later and started to recoup herself, starting by taking all of her supplies out of her bag and getting a full scope of everything she had. âThink we should head out of here? Iâve been attacked already by some sheep, and well, itâs not as pleasant as it was when I went to sleep.âÂ
