Womb Envy
Man comes in all forms, made out of clay/and set to stand in a nonsense universe./With wind so quick he can't smell the rot under him,/ he labours over flowers and fawns,/waiting for his part in creation.
In reds and browns he swims at night/as he's molded and modeled back with a womb missing/And he cries seas and storms/ while, she, in front of him waits for the calm.
Now he sits, unamused, over shimmering/and bright hubris./The eyes gifted looking upon the sky/ with the vultures he despised as a boy./ And her hands are clasped,/welded like skin and blood/staring up into a ceiling with a god imprinted on it.
Now you laugh, jagged and breathy/ and I speak of lives dreams make up of clouds/ and weigh in my eyes like cataracts
Our envy moves back and forth,/ a constant neither can handle/ Strings lay upon me and dig like nails/ and on the other voices, that hear me practice my screaming complacency,/days of oppression rule their shoulders and a god imprint on their body.
But, still, blame is taken from you./The First Man had never seen mortal creation,/so he sought to teach how to kill to counter it/ as he cried seas and storms for the last time/and crowned himself king.
