*☆·˚. – your own damn hero.

      a cascade of red curls rippled in the cool evening air as barbara sat, propped up against the air duct atop her apartment building’s roof. the curfew had long passed but at least she was ON her building, opposed to being in it or worse, out of it but still there was an air of discomfort, near agitation about the city and it was getting under the young woman’s skin to say the very least. and that without mentioning the gcpd and her father’s potential involvement in this, even though she’d shied away from visiting him since the announcement. “this couldn’t have come to a BETTER conclusion, could it?? ––– ” she uttered, sarcasm dripping from her lips, “accords, curfew... debriefing... they have no idea what’s good for this city, do they??” 

      “oh, THESE guys??” asked babs with one playful smirk as her yellow boot came clamouring down against a henchmen’s cheek, the buzz of batgirl clearly having a full on effect on the redhead today. “they’re great friends of mine... black mask?? you heard of him?? –– even if you haven’t, these are his guys and drawing attention to themselves is something they do best –– now watch yourself!!” 

      “not today, alfred...” came the redheaded woman’s soft reply, a distant smile coming across her lips as she turned to her right slightly to catch a glimpse of the man whom she admired so dearly. she wasn’t particularly fond of tea, coffee being her type of poison far more than anything else but seeing as it was a fond favourite of the butler’s, babs would never dare turn it away. “i just came over to meet with cass –– providing she’s AROUND somewhere, of course. but seeing as you’re here now, i won’t turn down the opportunity to ask how you are??” 

      “what?? the titans, so that’s... kon, cassie, garfield, bart, rachel – i guess steph’s your friend too but so far, the count isn’t too high, timothy.” a quirked brow followed the statement, she was jesting of course but babs wouldn’t deny it was fun teasing tim from time to time. he had plenty of friends, she knew that. “well... i’m certainly not sitting here doing nada, rest assure –– i don’t think getting banned off instagram is a great priority of mine either. though i’d probably miss it in retrospect... but as for get reported to the police, well my dad’s sort of IT. i’m sure he’d totally understand if i humbly, explained that i innocently put dick’s nudes up onto social media for the entire world to see... by mistake, of course.“

      having spent three years of her life moving from her wheelchair to various shape and sized chairs, she considered herself an amateur connoisseur on the things. during her time as oracle, she’d gotten used to it all despite the initial trauma and almost sitting back in the very chair she’d begun in now, gave her a sense of home despite how much she believed she was MEANT to be batgirl, even when she had no choice but to give it up. oracle would always been a part of her, now and forever and barbara would be forever proud of it too. “it’s alright... it’s been a while, hasn’t it?? hell, worlds and dimensions collided whilst you were gone –– doesn’t that say enough as it is??” replied the redhead, a comical tone in her hushed voice despite the sentence coming across more accusatory than she’d hoped it to. she sure didn’t blame him for his absence, unlike other members of their family as it so appeared. “well, i haven’t gotten too far in my investigation so far but i’d say it’s EXTENSIVE to say the least. on one hand, we have the avengers from new york seemingly, perhaps the most well known heroes of their world, with them they bring species such as mutants and inhumans, those being the ones we should most definitely be on the look out for. and then on the other hand, we have spaceships and lightsabers, jedis and siths... all honing from a galaxy far away from our own.” babs explained, taking measured breaths if and when she needed to, before moving to look from the screens to bruce, an uncertain expression on her fair features as she pushed her chair out gently, turning on it to face the elder. “i wouldn’t call them aliens, though. they’re quite dissimilar from what we’d perceive as aliens here, koriand’r, the kryptonians... these people aren’t much like that from what i’ve gathered so far.” she’d graced the last part of her explanation with a faint smile and the comment about jason only brightened it more so. “well, i suppose he’s not wrong there... but what i’d say is –– keep them at arms length for the time being, bruce – they might be able to HELP us, if that’s what we decide we want to offer in exchange for our help perhaps?? but who knows what type of trouble they’ve brought us from their worlds?? –– until we know more, we can’t be entirely sure. i suppose what i’m saying is, proceed with caution. extend to them a warm welcome but a careful one.”

( ✉ → the boy wonder 💙  ) if it shatters a window in my apartment, i’ll forward the cost of repairs to you… ‘cause you’ll be paying ;) 

( ✉ → wife no.2 ) my third point, you’re drunk - please go grab a bottle of water, preferably a large one, find a quiet space at your ‘party’ (??) and drink it a.s.a.p… you’ll thank me later, promise!
