THE RECLUSEVERSE'S WONDER WOMAN
Doreen "Dora" Prince is the curator for Gotham's Museum of History. An immigrant from Greece, she will still recall her teenage years spent in Gotham and her own fear of the Batman. Still, she's a dedicated archeologist: she'll tell any visitor about the rich culture of her homeland in astounding detail, almost as if she were there. Her favorite of the myths is that of Pandora, the first mortal woman carved by the Gods from the very Earth. However, her telling of the story seems a little different than that of most historians: in her tale, Pandora wasn't just an incarnation of feminine wiles as punishment to men for taking Prometheus' gift of fire who carried with her a jar (not a box, that's a mistranslation) containing all the wrongs in the world that she opened willingly.
That's because everything about Pandora's tale, and that of Dora herself, if a lie.
Pandora was indeed made by the Greek Gods of old, but she was used as a tool for vengeance against the mortals. She never wanted to unleash the evils in the jar and was deceived by the Gods into doing so. Blamed by the Gods and mortals alike for her "misdeeds", she fled Mount Olympus and the realm from which she spawned using the cursed rope which held the jar shut. She travelled to Orphan Worlds, realms where no Pantheon of any kind may thrive, and ended up in Recluse's universe, where she became Doreen Prince, hiding in plain sight.
Capable of marvelous feats of strength and to turn from short-statured Dora to the towering warrior Pandora, she chose to hide and observe as the evils she blames herself for unleashing take over the world of men. One day, after the Batman was killed by Bane, her museum fell under attack but was repelled by the Fool. Seeing how distressed the young woman was, the Fool asked her to tell her her favourite tale to calm down. Telling her Pandora's story, Dora bemoaned that, even after the death of monsters like the Batman, the jar's evils still roam the world. The fool disagreed: in the tale, Hope remained in the jar and never escaped, meaning it's power still belongs to mortal hands. This helped Dora see that there was something she could do to help the world she called home.
When a Kryptonian scout under Zod's employ threatened Gotham, Pandora stepped out of the shadows and, using the strength of a God, felled her opponent on her sword. Swearing to protect the world from the evils she unleashed, she dons the mantle of a warrior and joins the good fight.
