𝐢.           ›           tobias river clarke   grew up in dixon bend with his mom and two younger siblings. his childhood was fairly normal... or as normal as life in a trailer park could be. it was mom and dad and toby in a double wide, and he was a happy kid. sure, he got into some trouble, but what dixon bend kid didn’t? then his dad was arrested, and that was a lot for seven year old toby to take in. you’re going to be the man of the house now tobes, his mom told him, rubbing her swollen belly. she was pregnant with the twins then, and tobias was about to take on the role of World’s Best Big Brother... because he didn’t have any other choice. mama clarke was gone more than she was home, working double shifts at the diner to keep up with the bills. her boyfriends came and went, but one asshole stuck around. toby didn’t like him at all, but his mom must’ve thought the guy was real fucking swell because the day tobias turned eighteen, she ghosted, leaving him to raise his then seven year old twin siblings.

𝐢𝐢.           ›           he grew up too fast.   he never really getting to be a kid himself, always making sure his brother and sister were up for school, showered and dressed and fed every day. that routine didn’t change much when his mom left, but the burden of the bills came down on him hard and fast. a retired firefighter took pity on the kid and helped him get into the firefighter academy. it wasn’t what he wanted. he had big plans to go to university, get a degree and get the hell out of silver creek (and get his siblings out too) but that dream ended before it could even begin. he went through all of the training to become a firefighter, and it was a good job but it was hard on the family. he worked long shifts, 24 hours on the job and 48 hours off, but they made it work... until he got injured on the job and had to take some time off to recover. his sister was a godsend during the time, but he hated that she had to work to support them.

𝐢𝐢𝐢.           ›           like father, like son   when toby looks in the mirror, he doesn’t see himself... he sees his father. his dad got out of jail years ago and still comes around every once in a blue moon asking for money... and tobias pays up every time, swearing it’s the last time even though he knows it’s not. his dad isn’t a good man, and he wants to keep him far the fuck away from his younger brother and sister because he’s scared of what kind of influence the asshole could have on them. he hasn’t heard from his mother in twelve years, doesn’t know if she’s dead or alive, and doesn’t care. she abandoned them by choice, ranking her a little higher on the shitty parents scale then their criminal father. toby’s biggest fear is turning into trash like his parents, so he does everything he can to be a better person and a better parental figure to his siblings then their parents ever were.

𝐢.           ›           bentley jameson king   is technically the middle child of the king family, with one brother a few years older and one sister seven and a half minutes younger. yes, those seven and a half minutes are important, and bentley likes to remind her baby sister of that fact every chance she gets. she’s the older twin. the wiser twin. and anyone who knows the girls knows that’s a load of crap. the kings may not have been a part of the one percent, but they were still fairly wealthy, so the king children lived a privileged life. all three kids knew that they came after their parents’ vintage car collection in their parents’ hearts but they were okay with that. with kids named bentley, mercedes and lincoln, nobody should be surprised.

𝐢𝐢.           ›           from a young age,   bentley fell in love with music. she used to lock herself in her bedroom for hours, blasting music from the sixties to the nineties, but never anything current. it was always nirvana, the rolling stones, queen, songs from before her she was even born. because of her love of music, her parents gifted her with a vintage record player, and bentley started looting consignment shops and garage sales, always looking for albums to add to her collection. her parents collected old cars, and bentley collected old albums. they also gifted her a guitar that she taught herself how to play. she never considered a career in music, but she does busk from time to time one the street, in coffee shops and in bars.

𝐢𝐢𝐢.           ›           her love of old things   didn’t stop with music. most of her wardrobe comes from the same thrift stores she found albums, and consists of everything from velvet bell-bottoms and high waisted shorts to jumpers from the nineties and old, worn out tour t-shirts, and she exclusively wears vintage levi jeans. she’s kind of a chameleon, with her outfits changing with her mood. you never know what you’re going to get with her to be honest. the only thing in her wardrobe from this decade is her collection of vans. she has... so many pairs. too many pairs tbh. they’re the only shoes she wears and she pretty much has them in every color and pattern, and she even has some she hand painted or doodled on with permanent markers.

𝐢𝐯.           ›            university was never an option   for bentley, who was a wild child with no attention span. she passed most of high school with a c-average and didn’t have any extracurricular activities... that she could put on a  college application at least. she wasn’t in any clubs or on any teams. she was the type to hangout under the bleachers getting high or making out with someone. she’s known she was bisexual... pretty much forever. her first kiss was with a boy. very sloppy and very... wet?? and just not a good experience. her first kiss with a girl was much better, so that’s the narrative she likes to tell when people ask about it. she’s dated boys and girls, but neither for very long, which circles back to her nonexistent attention span.

jameson jacobs never gave a damn about anything or anyone. until she met them and they flipped her entire fucking world upside down. the assholes that took their last name a little too fucking seriously. they’re not related by blood, but that doesn’t matter. they’re brothers, in every way that actually fucking matters. they got each other’s backs, and now they got jameson’s too... and she’s not sure what to do with that. not when every instinct is telling her to run away and never look back. like it or not, she’s grown attached to them because they’ve had her back in ways that no one else ever has. they offered her a warm bed and a place in their tight inner circle. somehow, she’s earned their trust and their loyalty, and they’ve earned hers too.

BASH KING is the love of her life, but she’s not ready to admit that yet. hell, she hasn’t even admitted it to herself. and she never will. he frustrates her by every fucking definition of the word. mentally. emotionally. sexually. they’re not together, and if jameson has her way, they never will be. because letting him in means giving herself away. it means making a home, not in a house but in a person. but they’re tethered to each other by that damn red string of fate or whatever. he is hers, and she is his, and if anyone dares to come between them, they may as well have a fucking death wish.

DASH KING is a pain in her ass... and the best friend she’s ever had... but she sure as hell ain’t going to admit that either. the fucker got under her skin, but he’s got a heart of gold hidden beneath all of his damn innuendos and general pervy-ness. he’s sweet when he wants to be. almost too sweet, and he can almost always bring a smile to her lips. she can’t even pretend to stay mad at him, and that pisses her off. jameson is a little extra-protective of dash because he’s got this wild naivety about him.

NASH KING is the brother she never knew she needed. he’s the family she never wanted. they understand each other on a deeper level because deep down, they’re two sides of the same coin. they’ve both got secrets and they’re guarded, but they’re both so fucking intuitive. they read people, and they read each other. jameson didn’t like that very much at first, but now she’s eternally thankful for that sixth sense of his.

these guys are the closest thing to a family that jameson’s ever had. she was homeless, crashing on friends couches or sleeping in cars she broke into until they offered her a place to stay. it was supposed to be a temporary fix, but she hasn’t left yet... and honestly? she doesn’t want to. i used the surname king as a placeholder because they’re douchebags and would flaunt it every chance they got, but you can change it i’m not picky. they’re not even brothers by blood, but legally changed their surnames when they turned eighteen. bash is the oldest, and his dad took the other two in after an “accident” killed their parents and orphaned them. honestly, all of their parents were involved in some shady fucking shit. that’s where they got all of their money. they were all spoiled rich kids and now they share a mcmansion in constance where they host raging house parties every saturday night.

THE HAWKINS FAMILY

ALEXANDER and MAREN HAWKINS met while teaching at the same high school in Los Angeles. Alexander taught GOVERNMENT and Maren taught HISTORY, so when they started expanding their little family, they decided to name their kids after former US presidents like the little nerds history buffs they were. Education was important in the Hawkins family, and all kids were expected to graduate high school and preferably go to UCLA where Alexander was professor. (A job he only took so she could put the kids through college tbh.) The kids probably all know too much about history and are educted in government, but were encouraged to form their own political opinions. They have one family game night and at least one family dinner a month that all of them are expected to attend, despite their busy lives as adults.

They are all named after former US presidents (that were in office before they were born, obviously) and ages can range from 18-35 probably. I’m putting six slots but that’s definitely flexible. I would like at least one sister in the mix, but other than that I’m not bothered. Personalities, occupations and all of that are pretty much open but I don’t want a ~celebrity family so no more than 1-2 “famous” siblings please.
