Chat what is the science behind them making “splotchy” genes sparser and smaller on newer breeds. Like am I insane or what bc i know damn well chrysocolla doesn’t normally look like this LOL?? Genes like flecks and opal are also sorta killing me
(Im aware that some breeds have sparser flecks than others but you know what I think it looks bad when its sparse)
This plus their strangely thin lines that make them really hard to parse with specific genes and darker colors makes me believe that whoever’s working on new breed art (see also: vigil genes like barnacle) really needs to zoom out their canvas more to account for the 350x350 pixel reality of dragons on site
It’s too good. I fear they’re just too good.

ok i might sound insane for this but does anyone else feel like the lines for the chorus are like. immensely thinner and and less defined than other breeds and it makes it really really easy for them to become incomprehensible with more detailed genes/darker colors.
i think i've noticed this sometimes with the newer breeds bc obviously they have a much more refined style going on but even on like. idk fathoms its not as bad....... Vigils mostly had the problem of seeming very "small" in their frame because of their big wings and easily losing their features in the pixels. I also think cirrus manes/wind are guilty of this often
IM REALIZING THAT THE TUMBLR FORMATTING IS MAKING THIS HARDER TO PARSE JUST. ZOOM IN A LOT PLEASE LOL.

i cant believe this is a real dragon you can just have now
Light and lightning primal look awesome on the hatchlings... but oh dear god earth primal looks even more like eye crusties. these hatchlings have eye infections like kittens
[FR dev voice] omg i love how we have 87 thousand different gene scrolls for ancients i dont know why the userbase doesnt like this we literally gave them an NPC for it. Tch. Anyways time to go change the name of a 2 year old gene and piss everyone off about it
I can't find the post where I first laid this out so I'm saying it again: GIVE UP ON INDIVIDUAL ANCIENT GENES!! UN-SINK THE COST FALLACY!! each ancient gene should have ONE parchment that lists the breeds it can be used on and is APPLIED DIRECTLY TO THE DRAGON WITHOUT HAVING TO BE TRADED IN FIRST!! GET GLASS & GLOSS A DIFFERENT JOB!!!!!!!! if you could do the eye type redux you can also do an ancient gene redux!! I'm sick and tired of having 14 copies of one gene!! it's confusing to new players & it makes searching for items unbearable!! just look at this bullshit:
GIVE IT UP FOR METALLIC/CRYSTALLINE/ROCK BASED GENE NUMBER 87!!!!
[ps if anyone tells me i missed a gene i will literally swallow you whole there are literally 87 thousand different genes now i just looked for these in the scrying workshop]
