Looking through my bookmarks, the majority of my favourite fics are set in the early liverpool days so this is quite a short list, but I hope these few recommendations help you at least a little bit >_<

I’ve tried to pick fics that might have some angsty themes throughout but have a happy ending. I think a happy ending feels more satisfying and sweet when there’s angst setting it up ^_^

Also, before I start listing- I exclusively read explicit/mature so all of these fics are nsfw!!

Okay onto the list:

A fic where Paul attempts to quit smoking and John goes a little bit insane along the way lol set during the 1966 tour. really well written and the build up towards the ending is amazinggg

Starving (‘til I tasted you) - oopshidaisy

Another 1966 tour fic. John and Paul make a bet about who can go the longest without getting off, once again, they both go a little bit insane along the way

Domestic Bliss and Other Lies - 15clubsaday

Okay this one is ANGSTYYY but I promise the angst is so worth the ending. Set in 1967, John and Paul’s domestic bliss in Cavendish is shattered when John finds something in Paul’s room. This will make you cry (but then the ending will make you happy cry so it’s worth it ;P)

Would this be a Revolver recommendation list without a mention of a Hannah fic?! Now this one is set in 1961 so it’s outside the time bounds BUT it’s a Christmas fic so I reckon we’re close enough to ‘62 for me to sneak it in LOL

it really puts into perspective why the bc line are so close even now and no matter how messy or how seemingly they've drift apart, they can't get rid of each other, they've trauma bonded.

reading all the articles and sources that were listed in the primer just makes me more saddened and angry about smitty's place in the sharks. oh im so fucking angry about warso omfg, i have to kill that guy. smitty doesn't deserve to get treated like whatever the fuck happened in the latter half of the season. not only that but the increasing talks about trading, benching, and so much hate that he receives especially now is so goddamn frustrating.

still despite all of that shit happening to him, he still maintained relatively true to his personality despite how seemingly the usntdp tried to get rid of it. same with the players i've imprinted while being in the hockey fandom who happened to also survived that program (z and cole).

Will Smith Baseball universe where The White Sox know joy (and Mack is still a hockey player bc I can’t see him doing anything else I’m so not sorry)

so it’s sharks game night and cat suggests the newlywed game and then as a joke toff pairs will and mack together.

like haha you two are basically the same person anyway.

and they’re both like yeah, yeah whatever this is stupid.

except they start getting answers right.

like… every answer.

no hesitation, no discussion, no cheating, they’re just writing the same thing down and flipping the boards over like it’s nothing.

and at first it’s funny.

then it’s weird.

because it’s not just basic stuff. someone asks “what’s the first thing mack does when he wakes up?” and they both write “checks his phone for hockey clips.”

then “what temperature does mack take his showers?” both put “boiling hot.”

“what song does will sing in the shower when he thinks he’s alone?” they match word for word on some ridiculous early 2000s song. (it’s most definitely gonna be pony)

meanwhile actual married couples are getting things wrong. like some couples who have been together for years are losing to these idiots.

and now everyone’s fully locked in because what do you mean they’re winning.

like they’re actually dominating.

someone starts asking even worse questions on purpose just to trip them up “what’s something will says in his sleep?” “how does mack like to be comforted after a really shitty game?” and it somehow makes it worse.

because they still match.

and at this point the room has completely shifted, no one else is really answering anymore, just throwing out more insane questions to them.

everyone’s laughing but also very much like hold on.

and will and mack are still acting like it’s nothing. just a little quieter now. a little too aware of each other.

and they win.

by a lot.

like not even close.
