Regular Pint-Sized Atom Bomb

So my flat has these big, south facing windows in the living room. And it makes summer here truly miserable. I've got thermal curtains already, but because of a quirk of how this room is, theres a significant gap between the curtain and the window that lets the heat in. .... theres also the problem where the sun likes to hit the windows between the two curtains, and also how on the hottest days i keep the curtains closed and dont get any natural light for days on end and it makes me feel Bad.

SO - i thought the solution was to get some blinds AS WELL as my curtains. Specifically, what they call Perfect Fit blinds. Because i need to keep an upper window open for the portable air con duct, and so kinda need a blind on ALL 4 of the individual glass panes rather than blinds that go from the ceiling to the floor. These are blinds that basically clip into brackets you push into the rubber seals around the UPVC.

So in March, i get the salesman around. In hindsight, the guy really didnt, uh, spend that long talking to me. Didnt really explain what the various options were, how they might work for ME. Just went "ah you want these ones" and then showed me the colour book while he measured up.

But ok, fine. It was for Venetians on each window, and i chose a nice green to go with all the other Green in my living room. Im predictable

Then i pay there and then. I am not given any option for a deposit now, pay later. I was given no option for a payment plan. £650 there and then. Ok, fine. I have the money in my bank account for that at that point.

He says the next part is a survey where the person who'll fit the blinds comes rounds, makes sure theres no issue, and does a double check of the measurements. At this point he goes "oh i know this guy, hes currently signed off work for a knee injury. But if hes being recommended here, hes probably back to work. ANYWAY itll be next Thursday"

Hahahahaha. Hahahahaha. He was not back to work :). He phones me days before the appointment to say hes still signed off with a knee injury (because those things can take months to heal and need surgery!). But someone will be reassigned and itll be fine

My appointment comes and goes with no one else contacting me. At this point it was the Easter bank holiday, so i wait until the bank holiday is over and still no one has gotten in contact with me.

So i forward the email with all my order details to the customer service email address. The next day, i get a phone call saying "oh we're sorry, we're sorting it, dont worry!"

.... Next Tuesday, i still havent heard anything further. I email again. I get a response "oh you should get a phone call from another fitter within 48 hours"

The next day, I DO get a phone call from another fitter. He says to me that he has had the assignment for less than 24 hours, and he has 48 hours to respond. ... So after my original email, nothing was done??

So the survey goes ahead on the 21st. The actual fitting is booked in for a month later - the 27th May.

On the 23rd, I get a phone call from the fitter that i literally just miss. He leaves me a nearly incomprehensible voicemail, where all i could really understand was "i have heartburn (??? seriously??) and need to reschedule your appointment to next Saturday"

So i assume my appointment is cancelled, which is probably not a terrible thing because it was incredibly hot that week and it was something like 26c in my home that day (he could have said something about the heat, not heartburn, but it did NOT sound like that on the voicemail. It really was atrocious quality). I also had no groceries that day, so i thought it was safe to... leave my flat and get some groceries... especially as no one contacted me ON the day

That next Saturday, I got a phone call that i did not miss that time. I get the news that: This fitter is leaving Hillary's. Hes on his notice period now. He'll call me on Monday afternoon (Why a call to arrange a call i do NOT know) .... also he did turn up to mine on "the appointment day" and no one answered the door. And, like.... you told me... you wouldnt be able to do the appointment?? You didnt give me a call on the day to say you were coming?? I assumed you werent coming???

So, anyway. Monday afternoon comes and goes. My phone is completely silent. It was completely silent Tuesday morning, where I filled out the web form asking what the hell was going on. I received no indication that sent... anything?

Wednesday, Im getting impatient. I email the address i used previously, as THAT got a response pretty quickly before? That one also sends you a kickback email saying you should receive a response in 48 hours.

..... 48 hours later on Friday, i am still waiting for literally anyone to get hold of me.

So i respond. I let them know how unacceptable this is. Reiterate this is now the 2nd time ive had a fitter bail on me through no fault of my own. That at this point in time, I dont even care if they get FITTED. Just that i RECEIVE the blinds. Look, i can build PCs, I can assemble and fit some no-drill blinds.

.... But also - that if i do not receive a response on Monday, i will be asking my bank to charge back the purchase. Because at this point, i am beyond tired. I have been angry for an entire week, waiting for literally any contact on what the hell is going on. Im literally losing sleep over this.

I also take the time to write a 1 star review on Trustpilot outlining basically all of this, giving them my order details so someone can quickly find my email chain and answer it.

..... so the trustpilot review got a response. I left it at 8pm on Friday night. At 10am Saturday morning, i got a response apologising for it, that its fallen beyond the standard they like to give. The lady who responded to my trustpilot review assured me she would look into it on Monday as a matter of priority.

..... Its now nearly 10pm on Monday and i still have received no further response from anyone. My email remains unanswered. My phone hasnt rung. (I'll also note here im specifically going with email because i much prefer having a clear record of what was said, when, and that theres no way for me to either Forget something... or mishear. I know i am dreadful at understanding people over the phone!)

..... So i asked my bank to dispute the purchase :). I threatened to do it! They didnt respond to me! So i did it! :)

And maybe its not the most airtight case, idk, but also its the fact ive gone an entire week with the company making NO effort to get in contact with me?? Ive had two delays to the process, through no fault of my own, and im just incredibly tired of chasing up and chasing up and chasing up.

Its basically one final avenue i have to either light a fire up their arses and get them to contact me back Or for me to get my money back, screw them. im never going to buy another thing from them as a company, because it seems to be almost impossible to get any form of customer service if something DOES go wrong along the way and theres no central web portal where I can... see my booking? Or chase up the order?

Qifrey I think is also Very perceptive when children are victims of abuse

I'm not sure how much the anime will go into Richehs past teacher. But he basically beat her brother, and other apprentices. This is a huge reason why Richeh doesn't want to do what people tell her to do, and wants to do her own thing. Because her brother didn't want to her to lose what made her unique, under the threat of abuse by an abusive teacher!

Agott was thrown out by her family for, apparently, stealing a spell. Which she denies she did. But the reason for her being thrown out is essentially not being good Enough for the family name.

And Qifrey picks up Coco as an apprentice instead of letting her memory be wiped and her left as an orphan!

Like, he's collected these traumatised children, who've all had bad experiences with the adults in their lives, and he gives them a safe space to exist. Every single one of those children trust Qifrey as an adult figure. Even Richeh, whose hostile to being taught, trusts Qifrey as an adult and her guardian

And I'm pretty sure if Euini asked - Qifrey would have taken Euini as an apprentice! I think that's what Qifrey was implying by reminding Euini he can choose his own master! Not just "you CAN have a different master, you know" but "I will be your master if you'll let me"!!
