finally tried my hand at a twin cinema poem and yaowza !! took me a couple hours to figure it out but i'm very happy with this one and i wanted to share. you can read gideon and harrow's thoughts separately to see their perspectives on their own and each other's actions, and putting them together supposedly reveals the truth of the lengths they would go to but can't communicate to one another :3

i just think that a form where they are talking to one another without hearing any response and yet are intertwining so perfectly is deeply on theme and makes me ill

She's like one of those cats that just freeze up and then fall over when you put tape down one side of them.

Mind you, this is all a testament to the malevolent genius of Muir. That's her whole THING, people. She blends the narrator's descriptions and impressions with the protagonists impressions. You have the world filtered through a Gideon/Harrow/Nona coloured prism. New Rho is a REALLY fucked up and anxiety-inducing place, but it comes across as homey and wholesome because we're marinading in Nonaverse. And Gideon comes across as a lot more together and bold and correct because she THINKS she is. Compare with how wet-cat Harrow is in HtN compared to her Regina-George energy in GtN. That's the difference of Harrow's perspective vs Gideons, even with the material circumstances aside.

Freshly out of Hell and still dazed by whatever happend post tomb opening, Reverend Mother Harrowhark Nonagesimus, can urge no other reaction out of her but a slightly out of breath, shamefully informal "Ok."

Cue a pleathoa of mom jokes that everybody seems to get into.

"Reverend- forgive me Harrowhark, I cannot in good faith look at your face and call you-"

"Then please don't. Thank you, Paul."

"Oh, mother!" ejaculates Ianthe at her every movement.

"Oh, sorry mommy", Kiriona is already begging for it.
