ʜᴏᴘᴇʟᴇꜱꜱʟʏ ᴅᴇᴠᴏᴛᴇᴅ

“ have you tried flirting with him? ” she asks, stating the obvious. at least, what was obvious to her. of course not everyone was as forward as nicki. when she found someone attractive, she made sure it was known. “ it’s not that hard, dude. just start with a small compliment and go from there. ” she takes a sip of her drink. “ there’s only one way to find out. do you see him anywhere? “ she asks, looking at the group of people who arrived to speed date. she had no clue who she was looking for but, she was determined to help.

the pianist gives a wrinkle of his nose before shaking his head, “i...i try! but anytime i’m around him...i just get so nervous. i trip over my words. i say the STUPIDEST things.” he had the tendency to be an anxious ball of nerves when in the presence of a cute guy. gideon chuckled, “you’re SEVERELY underestimating my massive ability to fuck up just a small compliment.” he swallowed thickly before taking a sip from his drink, face screwing up in the process, “but liquid courage, right? so like...what would be a good small compliment.” gideon chewed upon his bottom lip before casting his gaze toward the aforementioned cute guy who was talking to someone in the corner, “he’s the one with the pretty hair and the kind eyes.”

“I don’t know if I can help you there, if I think someones cute I usually drink enough tequila to gain some courage and tell them. You can either do that which,, it seems like you’re close enough, or you speed date and see for yourself. You only live once, or whatever, right?” she asks, and really, she was bad with romance or anything, as much as she kind of wanted those things “I’ll join you if you want, be your wing woman.”

“ah.” gideon said with a chuckle, raising the champagne flute as he swirled around what remained, “don’t think there’s any tequila in this.” brows knit into a slight furrow as he gave a tilt of his head, “actually...i don’t think i’ve ever had tequila before. i don’t drink much. i can count on my one hand how many times i’ve drank before.” which was probably why he was so tipsy, “how did it turn out? the times that you went to people with your ‘tequila courage’?” he asked with the tilt of his head, “my wing woman! that’d be amazing! what does a wing woman do?”

“ Hell if I know. ” Eevee shrugged and really she didn’t. She knew for a fact,  -based on every situation she’d ever had with anyone she found attractive- that her flirting skills were at the level of nearly non-existent. “ You just have to say words that make sense.” She advised, unhelpfully as she also took the drink from him. “ And maybe not get too sloshed to form coherent sentences, before you talk to him. That could also be a start. ”

“that’s easier said than done.” gideon admitted with a soft chuckle, brown orbs meeting hers, “i tend to become...an incoherent babbling idiot when i’m around cute guys. it’s like...i lose all of my chill.” though it could be debated that he had no chill to begin with. “the uh...alcohol seems to make me braver. surprisingly. this whole speed meet thing? doesn’t really go well with my blaring social anxiety.”

Cammy heard the question and turned her attention to the guy asking. She grinned and laughed a little through her answer, “You tell him exactly that. ‘Hey, I just wanted to tell you I think you’re cute.’ A lot of people like confidence. It’s hot.”

a soft chuckle escaped from his lips, nervously shaking his head, “well that’s easy for YOU to say. you’re like...so pretty! i’m a mumbling dork. don’t know if he’d be interested in me...” gideon chewed upon his bottom lip before taking another sip from his drink, “OKAY. so i just go up to him and be all like ‘hey...i think you’re cute.’ just...like that?!”
