The passion project ✨Women in Rouge; the historical socioeconomics of s*x work & the underbelly of society zine.✨ 8.5x5.5 inches. 90 full color pages, folded & stapled. 75% text, 25% pictures. Sort of inspired by Blues Legacies and Black Feminism: Gertrude "Ma" Rainey, Bessie Smith, and Billie Holiday by Angela Y. Davis - which I’ve started to read twice but never finished. 🙃 And also a broader, contemporary, postmodern version.

Technically an info zine but with perzine motivations. Written from a sociology & s*x history perspective with a dash of psychology for oomph. (Plus I have a degree in psychology but prefer sociology). Utilizing books, history videos, music videos, song lyrics, song writers, public female figures across entertainment, & music from the 60s to the present I analyze the contemporary culture of female exploitation under patriarchy & how it is a form of propaganda socially & cyclically conditioned into the youth. From s*x workers to pop stars I question and theorize the role patriarchy, economics, race\ethnicity played in their mindset and the messages they in turn ‘promote’ to be consumed & perform correlating to the widespread impact of subliminal/unconscious/subconscious/conscious patriarchy.

Within the zine are roughly 37 sections. Too many to list. I emphasize a ‘decolonized’ perspective via the many WOC featured or referenced with direct Caribbean, South American & or transatlantic slave ancestry within the zine but I also include multiethnic/multiracial & white representation to juxtapose & expound on my points.

Overly ambitious project reveal ✨TAKE HEART✨zine style novella hybrid. Features 22 watercolor illustrations, 58 pages & roughly 15,000 words.🙃 (I intended for it to be a short story but changed my mind during the writing process). It includes a a QR to the playlist or soundtrack for the atmosphere but also because I make playlists for everything.

⚡️Blurb: Many write to the reclusive and elusive Baba Yaga asking for her sage wisdom & blessings. Only one timeworn letter calls an intruder to infiltrate her wards. Through strange happenstance, Krampus the exhibitionist with an iron fist is unshackled from Saint Nick's enterprise and seeking to deliver a physical message to an untoreseen adversary.
