A Ghostly Halloween

Walking through the halls of the surprisingly empty manor, Isaac and Pierre finally find themselves into the kitchen. Inside they see Thor, Flower, Sassapis, Trevor, and Pete, crowded around Samantha’s computer, and quietly talking amongst themselves.

“Attention everyone! This is Sergeant Pierre La Croix and he is from the France” Isaac exclaims as Pierre tips his hat. “Hello! Or should I say bonjour!” Pete says with a chuckle. “You know French?” Pierre asks curiously. “Very little, but I’ve been to Paris in Epcot!” Pete says, slightly bragging. The two do a greeting where they kissed each other on both cheeks, and they get weird looks from the other ghosts. “Pete in relationship with French ghost?” Thor asks, slightly confused by the gesture. “No, this is one of the many greetings of my great country of France.” Pierre says gloatingly.

After realizing the familiarity of the name, Sam looks up from her computer in surprise, to which Pierre gives her a confused glare. “Oh hello! Jay it seems we have another one.” Sam says in shock, as she looks to her husband. “Seriously? Well it’s nice to meet you… wherever in the room you are.” Jay says awkwardly, as he turns to finish cooking.

Suddenly Pierre’s eyes land on Trevor. He saunters towards him. “Oh? And who is this delectable creature?” Pierre says, looking over at Trevor with a flirtatious grin, awaiting a response. “Trevor Leftkowitz” Trevor says, offering his hand for a handshake. Pierre accepts the handshake, which came in the form of a high-five then a proper shake. “That was an… interesting way of a handshake” Pierre says as he brushes his hand against his coat. “To think someone in such bold attire would know at least aproper handshake” Pierre mumbles, fairly annoyed, he clearly expected something else from the pant-less one. But then Pierre smirks, ”However, you are in prime position for a certain activity-.” Issac ushers him into the other room before he can finish his sentence, leaving Trevor very uncomfortable.

Meanwhile in the basement, Nigel looks off into the distance, almost as if he were examining the concrete that made up the stairs. “Did he just leave me in this sad pit?…” Nigel say’s disappointedly. “Oh yeah, you better watch out before Captain Oi Oi Baguette steals your man, based on what I’ve heard he’s a freak!” Nancy says, interested in Nigel’s reaction. Nigel stands there, with a nervous expression he barely makes eye contact with Nancy, then looks over at Patience, who gives a sigh. “It’s true… despite that dweller’s weird wording, Patience has seen many times of Pierre being unholy and dirty… it’s the whole reason I dragged him to this hell hole, so he wouldn’t interfere with the others purely perfect society.” She says in her usual disgust. 

Nigel looks down, “I can’t believe this, surely he wouldn’t be that desperate… right?…” Nigel looks around at the concerned looks on the other basement ghosts, who are trying to make eye contact, then to Patience who gives a quick glance at him before looking away and starts fidgeting with the collar on her dress. 

Issac was desperate. After his heartbreaking breakup with his fiancé Nigel, he was ready to try again. Unfortunately his ‘try again’ came in the form of an extremely awkward second date with the lustful Puritan from next door. Which brings us to this point, a very heated argument between the two ex flames. 

“You would really stoop so low as to settle on a long-haired, unkept, libidinous, Puritan?!” Nigel exclaimed. 

It was no secret the two soldiers still had some feelings for each other, not that they were willing to admit that of course. 

“At least I’m not trapped in a shed spending my afterlife watching ants! Every night I’d like to add!” Issac replied with equal fervor.

“I should’ve seen it coming, like the bullet you put in my chest you’ve betrayed me once again. I should’ve expected this from an insufferable Yankee like yourself.” Nigel yelled, hurt by Isaac’s rude comments, he felt it was the only way to respond. The pair started to move closer together with each harsh word said. “Why don’t you run along to tea time?!” Issac said, almost nose to nose with the British soldier. Nigel was about to reply, but he was cut off by an interesting and unfamiliar sound.

First looking to the source of the sound, the basement, then to each other the ex couple knew that they had to investigate. Taking cautious steps down to the prison of cholera victims. The sound grows louder and more audible as the two approach to the bottom of the pit.

“Un sac à merde!” Said a face unfamiliar to the two. Isaac observed this new figure. He could make out the details of a French solider uniform before a second, more familiar voice intercedes.

“You realize I can’t understand the language of sin you speak!” said the voice, looking over Isaac realizes that it was Patience.

“How many times to I have to tell you, it’s French!” The solider said, clearly annoyed by her religious words.

“What is going on!” Nigel interrupts, as the man and puritan look at him.

Patience goes to speak but is cut off by the new ghost. “This holy imbecile has gotten me lost!” The French soldier exclaimed. Nigel and Issac look at each other than back at the ghost. “Would you mind telling us your name?” Issac said, looking curiously at him. “Je m’appelle Pierre.” The ghost said with a bow. “Pardon?” Nigel said with a hint of disgust on his face. “Ah, you simpletons.” Pierre walked towards the center of the room. He had a very regal stature and air about him. He donned a blue jacket with red furnishings underneath, a traditional uniform for a French, high ranking officer. 

Pierre turned back around to look at them. “My name is Pierre, that dis all you need to know about moi.” Then he adjusts his powdered wig and turns on his heel up the stairs. “Wait!” Issac trails up the stairs behind him, leaving Nigel and Patience by themselves. Eventually he walks side by side with Pierre. “Why don’t you tell me about yourself. You know it’s not everyday we get a new ghost as pristine as yourself. How’d you die anyway?” Pierre gave him a flirtatious smile and replied, “Wouldn’t you like to know?” Issac gave him an inquisitive look. “Yes, I would actually.”

“Ze year was 1776 I was just awaking at ze site of the troops I was commanding. It wasn’t until I heard the sound of screams before zi realized it was too late…” Pierre explained, with an upsetting demeanor. “And you are?” Pierre said, looking at Isaac with a stern look. “Oh!..” Isaac says, a bit surprised on how someone with his rank would want to talk to him. Isaac freezes before his response, “Higgintoot, Isaac Higgintoot.” Isaac goes in to shake his hand, but Pierre seemed sidetracked. As Hetty and Alberta walk into the room, Pierre had went to go introduce himself to the ladies. “Bonjour ladies, je m’appelle Pierre.” He says while kissing their hands giving a slight wink.

“Aww, you’re quite the gentleman aren’t ya?” Alberta says, interested in this new arrival. “I do my best to impress zuch wonderful women such as yourselves.” Pierre flirts with a wink. Hetty, still looking slightly skeptical, takes a step closer to him. “Vous parlez français?” She asks, testing him. “Pourquoi bien sûr madamosielle.”  Pierre speaks whilst stepping closer to her, their chests almost brushing against one another. “I guess it could do some of the others good to have some foreign language in the house. Welcome.” Hetty steps away from him and into the other room. 

“Oh Alberta, I just remembered, isn’t your show about to go on?” Isaac says, in some sort of attempt to be alone with the new ghost. “Well yes, but leaving the new ghost alone would be quite disrespectful.”
