i feel like the recent random promotion of TNM S2 where diego and tom have been paired up and pushed as the main actors to do interviews and public talks and photoshoots... so what i'm putting down is diego will be back in S3 in the sense that their chemistry was so fab and so unexpectedly pulled in many people to watch that the showrunners are promoting the current (and upcoming) season mostly with them and therefore we're getting teddy haunting the narrative and pine having dead wife hallucinations/dreams of him and the emotional spiral will be so good oh richard roper you are so fucking cooked π₯π₯π₯
and this isn't just me being delusional (well i'm lying. 90% of it is delusion BUT... that 10%) but the only character we see pine form an attachment to is teddy, and his ending is very sudden. he was supposed to get his redemption and instead received a bullet to the head. of course many other people help out and even die for pine, but troubled person tied to roper with a beautiful face, a tragic backstory and a conflicted soul (see: jed)? it's different now: jonathan pine wants to be your knight in shining armour so fucking bad.
and then he couldn't fully act on his emotions out of apprehension or shame or realising he doesn't have time to be bisexual right now. this and the fact that the last shot we see of pine is exhausted and Out Of It. So would it be that weird if teddy just popped up every once in a while like Hey Girlllll do you miss me? don't you wanna return the bullet to roper? do you have regrets that our final intimate moment wasn't supposed to be final and there was supposed to be an after and Maybe there would've been a chance to unpack whatever was up with us???
okay rambling over. please let this crazy idea of mine be vaguely true. showrunners please hear me and lock in i am giving you ideas for free.
