Dreams canât hurt you

Literally wrote this last night and decided to post it, sorry if itâs cringe.
â¨Hinoka hated nights like these, nights where it was cold and wimdy. Sure the castle could keep some warmth in, but it didnât help that tonight she was alone in bedâŚ
Corrin had left earlier in the day to make a diplomatic visit to both Nohr and Hoshido. He had offered her to come along, but she declined, deciding to stay and maintain Valla while he was gone.
As King and Queen it was their duty to work in the best interests of their people; she decided that at least one of them should stay just in case something happened, but sheâd be lying if she didnât wish they could just shirk their duties and just spend time together as a family.
And it was their newest addition to said family that snapped Hinoka out of her thoughts as she heard the door to the room slowly open, and from behind it poked out a 6-year-old girl with crimson-red hair similar to her own, tied up in a little bun with eyes brimming with tears.
âM-mama?âŚâ Kana said sniffling, clearly upset about something. âKana, are you okay?â Hinoka said worried as she threw the covers off herself and rushed to her daughter, kneeling and pulling her into a warm embrace; âWhatâs wrong sweetheart?â She asked as she let go of kana and gently wiped the tears from her face.
âI⌠I had a bad dreamâŚâ Kana said as she looked down at the floor. The small princess couldnât help but tear up more as her mother gently pulled her into another embrace, âDonât cry sweetheart it was only a nightmare, none of it was real.â Hinoka said trying to calm Kana down, but kana hugged her tighter as more tears slipped from her eyes. âBut you and papa were gone, and I was all alone!â She said choking in a sob as she buried her face into Hinokaâs shoulder. â¨â¨Hinoka pet her daughters hair as she picked her up gently and carried her to the bed sitting down with her, âShh, your father and I arenât going anywhere sweetheart, yes Corrin may not be here tonight but heâll be back tomorrow and weâll all be together.â Kissing her daughterâs head she stroked the girls hair until Kana calmed down and looked up, âB-but the bad dreams feel so real, what if they come true?âŚâ
Hinoka smiled and kissed her daughters nose, âDreams are just dreams Kana, They can be scary sometimes sure, but theyâre never real even if they feel or look like they are; Iâve had nightmares before and many of them felt just as real as yours probably did, but none of them ever became real.â
Kana giggled as she began to cheer up, âI hope I can be as brave as you and Papa mama!â Hinoka ruffled Kanaâs hair as she giggled in return; âYou will be Kana, one day youâll be even braver and stronger then your father and I.ââ¨â¨Kana smiled only to yawn soon after as she began to get tired again, âMama, can I stay with you tonight?âŚâ Hinoka gave her a small smile and gently layed back with her pulling the blankets over them and placed a kiss on Kanaâs forehead. âSleep well my little pegasus.â The two of them soon fell asleep and not long after Kana began to dream again, but this time it was of her and her parents enjoying time together as a family, and Kana couldnât be happier.
