Go all the way with it. Do not back off. For once, go all the goddamn way with what matters.

People tell you all these romantic things. You know, ‘I’ll always be there for you.’ ‘I’ll walk the earth for you.’ Whatever. But then you need a ride home from work or someone to talk to on a Tuesday night and they’re too busy. I don’t want anyone to walk the earth for me. Not unless I can come too.

Five, almost six months later it barely hurts. Actually I’m wrong, it still hurts but it is a different kind of hurting. It feels as if the pain is so deep or as of it is far below the surface. Six months below the surface.

All suffering originates from craving, from attachment, from desire.

So much harm comes into this world when the wrong thing is said. But that’s nothing compared to the pain from what goes unsaid.

Why should I spend my time chasing after someone who doesn’t want me back?

That’s how you can tell that you’re filling yourself with the wrong things. You use a lot of energy, and in the end, you feel emptier and less comfortable than ever.

There is a great deal of pain in life and perhaps the only pain that can be avoided is the pain that comes from trying to avoid pain.

One of the hardest things you will ever have to do, my dear, is to grieve the loss of a person who is still alive.
