When life is tough, it is so easy to reach for the things that feel good physically or help us to escape from the stress and challenges that we are dealing with. Many people will tend to choose what feels good physically instead of turning more into God/Divine Source. However, these are the periods that we need to strengthen Divine Connection instead of choosing what separates us. When we are presented with big tests, it is rarely an easy time. Tests are seeing if we are truly ready for what is coming next. If we can't handle the small stuff, how can we handle the bigger things? Tests and temptations are our opportunity to show that we have the strength to receive bigger blessings. Too often I see people wanting the rewards but are unwilling to turn down what is blocking their ability to receive them. Most people want to know their rewards are guaranteed or have assurance of them before doing the work. However, that is not true commitment to nurturing Divine Presence. We must fully be in that commitment without the promise of anything. If we know God/Divine Source, then the pleasure is inherent in the commitment. We also know that the blessings will come and unfold for us, even if we don't know what they are or have a guarantee. This is a lot like a love relationship. You cannot expect a happy marriage if you and your partner are not committed to each other. If you want to be married, you have to prove your commitment prior to the engagement. Some of the greatest blessings of marriage come over time, but they only happen when our commitment to it is kept up even when temptations are presented to us. There is never a guarantee that the marriage will work, but commitment gives it the strongest possibility of lasting a lifetime. Today reminds us to think carefully when a temptation or test is given to us. We want to ask where true happiness resides and what supports Divine Presence and choose that. When we honor our commitment to nourishing Divine Presence, we always end up with something more fulfilling and enjoyable than the temptation that is presented to us.

Spontaneity is wonderful. It is part of what makes us feel alive and strengthens Divine Connection. When we are in it, we are immersing in the opportunities of the moment. We say yes to something fun or that allows for personal expression, that isn't always available to us. In some ways, it is an unexpected gift that breaks up monotony and routines. However, we have to be careful and know the difference between spontaneity and being impulsive. While spontaneity is almost always favorable and beneficial for us, impulsiveness is usually unfavorable for us. It is rooted in manipulation and selling us into something. Fear and urgency are often used to get us to purchase or do something that we don't need or really want. When we do things impulsively, we are acting without thinking and often end up with literal or proverbial buyer's remorse. When we feel "pushed" or "sold" into something, we need to step away from it and think about it before moving forward. With spontaneity, its benefits are easily seen and doesn't require much thinking because we can feel a joy in our heart over it. Today calls us to do something spontaneous, and to let ourselves feel alive and be playful. Make the time to seize a positive and unexpected opportunity that comes your way.

Sometimes, we just don't really know what direction to go with something. While stress, anxiety, and tension are not normally what we want to deal with, sometimes it can still serve a useful role if we are willing to work with it favorably. We may find ourselves in uncomfortable positions which create stress and anxiety for us. We can either let it tear us apart and make us miserable, or we can embrace the growth it is offering and listen to what it is trying to tell us. Without some stress or pressure, many people will not grow and develop themselves, due to being too comfortable. However, it can also narrow our choices down, and this can often be a way to help us focus on where we need to go, instead of just where we want to go. Sometimes, we don't see the solution or opportunity, until other things are not possible. In turn, this can help us to stop creating what is unfavorable and to start embracing what is favorable. This can also lead us to find something that we like, that we didn't think that we would like. Today reminds us that it is our choice to let stress make us miserable, or use it as an opportunity to make ourselves stronger and connect with more of our beauty. Take time to see how your stress is polishing you and not trying to destroy you.

Weekly Focus – Value What Others Have To Offer

This week, we want to focus on working with others.  It is a great time to work with others in an apprenticeship or fellowship dynamic.  We have the opportunity to learn more about others and the experiences that they have been through.  It is important to keep an open mind, and not be judgmental.  People flow differently and what is functional for one person, may not be for another person.  No right or wrong, better or worse than, just different flows.

Our greatest benefits come from working as a team with others, and learning from them.  We all have our expertise and areas that we need to develop.  Even if we don’t choose to do things the same as others, they can still be a guide for us.  Usually, we need to put our own style into things and not just be a copy of others.  This will be a great time for getting experiences and seeing what will and will not work.  We won’t know this until we try something or learn more about it.  People need to actually experience something first hand, and not just hear about it.  The key is to stay out of superiority/inferiority patterns and to simply respect and value the wisdom others have.  It is by working with others side-by-side, that we can bring forward successes.  Some successes cannot be achieved, without working with others.

This is not the best week for making major decisions, having important conversations, signing contracts, or having medical procedures done.  Our mind gets easily distracted, and has a hard time focusing.  This can make it easy to miss important details.  The mind is good with creative things and brainstorming (especially with others), but not for heavy mental work.  We may need to allow ourselves time just to drift into some daydreams.  However, intuition is strong, and it is important to listen to it.  Dreams, daydreams, and other symbolic messages can inspire us or give us insights that we wouldn’t normally pay attention to.

A key way that we build success and abundance in our life is through kindness and generosity. It doesn't mean that we are supporting bad habits like laziness or giving where it is not needed. However, it does mean that we are doing things that open our heart and strengthen those who struggle to help themselves or who cannot help themselves. Sometimes, people get "lost" in life or don't know what to do with their time, energy, and resources. Focusing on helping and strengthening people, animals, and the environment is always a good place to put our attention. When we do this sincerely, we also strengthen our connection with God/Divine Source, as we become a channel for it to have a positive impact in our world. Today reminds us that for a world to flourish and for us to flourish in our own lives, we must help and strengthen others in positive ways. The challenge is always to help without interfering or using the "help" as an excuse for personal gain or political agendas. It is simply about taking care of needs and providing opportunities for strength in people, animals, and the environment. Today, do even 1 thing that helps another life.

We all tend to have those seasons that we love the most or enjoy just a bit more than the others. However, it is still important to enjoy what each one has, while we are in it. Each one is here for just a short time each year. When we indulge in seasonal activities, fun, foods, and embrace the natural rhythms, we also are nourishing our body, mind, and Spirit. It puts us in harmony with the natural rhythms created by God/Divine Source. Today reminds us to get out and enjoy what the season is offering us while it is here. Each season offers a time for something and produces foods that our bodies need at that time. The more we synchronize with natural rhythms, the stronger our health is, the more engaged our mind is, and the more fulfilled our Spirit is. Try to free yourself from schedules, be a little adventurous, and find something seasonal to enjoy.

Some days, the energy is such that people are going to remember us for what we say and do for a long time. While we don't need to impress others, we do want to leave them with a positive impression of us. Too many people put on an act to look a certain way with others. However, this always catches up with them at some point, and their real personality ends up coming out. These days, I simply choose to do my best to be kind to others, regardless of how they are with me. Yes, I may hold some boundaries or disagree with them on things, but I can still be kind; even when I don't like what they do to me. By choosing to authentically put this out to the best of my ability, I never have to worry about the impression I leave on others. If I am working also in truth and compassion, I know I have always given them something favorable, even if they can't receive it. Positive impacts are not always seen or known, and even when people can't receive something in the moment, it doesn't mean that they haven't received it and appreciated it. Our concern is not what others can or cannot receive, but what we are doing and putting out into the world. If that is positive, we are certain to create positive things. Today calls us to put positive things into the world, and to leave others with something positive to remember us by.

True wisdom doesn't come just from a book, watching a video or listening to what others have been through. These things can all help, but in the end, we have to get our own experiences. No one can do the work for us. It is our own personal experiences that give us wisdom. This is where ideas and thoughts are put into action. Since each one of us is a bit different, we won't fully understand how things flow for us and what works for us until we actually try it and do it. When we work with mentors and those with life experiences, they realize that they sometimes have to allow us to do something that doesn't work so that we can learn things for ourselves. They realize that we have to learn how to work through things for ourselves and not always be reliant on them. There is an understanding that it is important for us to fall and be left alone at times, because they know that sometimes that is needed for us to learn something. Mothers realize this concept with their babies. They cannot be there to pick them up every time they fall down. At some point, they have to let the child fall and figure out how to stand back up on their own. Today reminds us to embrace our experiences, regardless of how they work out. At minimum, they will teach us something. It reminds us that if we want to have success or accomplish things, that we will have to learn to do things for ourselves and that others cannot do the work for us. It is through our experiences, that strength and successes are created.

Nature itself is one of the things we often take for granted or just don't think much about. I mean the trees are there, the dirt is there, squirrels and birds are there. However, rarely do we stop and take a closer look at these things even though they are part of our world and everyday life. We don't often stop and take the time to learn how amazing and incredible they are and the intricacy of their function. The same is even true with natural weather patterns. Did you know that the dragonfly dates back over 300 million years and is supposedly the fastest insect fliers as it can move up to 35mph, hover, fly backwards, change direction mid-air, and have almost 360-degree vision? Not to mention, they feed on mosquitos; making them part of nature's pest control force. Modern society leads us to take so much for granted, or to even view nature's magnificence as a pest to our lives. Today encourages us to stop for a while and appreciate the magnificence of the world we live in. I believe that part of why God/Divine Source has surrounded us with all of these wonderful things is to keep us reminded that wonderful and incredible things do exist. The more we take the time to recognize them, the more we connect with spiritual riches and the stronger our faith and hope get. The world is full of beauty, and incredible workings. Especially when life challenges us, we need to take time out to see the beauty, regain our perspective, and remember what is truly important.

I have seen things shift a lot over the years, and that is true for most of us in my age range. When I first entered the work field, almost everything was hands on learning and "shadowing". You had to have enough knowledge about things to get the job, but the rest was done with coaching, mentoring, and apprenticeships. You didn't leave college without an apprenticeship in your field. These days, most places sit you down in front of a computer, show you some videos, and expect you to do your job great. While this can be fine for some basic things, it doesn't address real situations. Watching something will never be the same as experiencing it and learning through the experience. Most trades people who became excellent in their field, learned this way. Many started working with a parent or relative as a child. Not as child labor, but to learn and to spend time mastering skills. As they got older, they were capable of taking over the family business. They learned how things actually worked and not just mental conception or didn't just do them without really knowing about things. Today reminds us that real success comes from getting in and doing things ourselves. We are not always going to be successful with things at first. We will fall, make mistakes, and do things in clumsy ways to start with. However, if we learn from those experiences, we will make the adjustments needed and eventually move into successes. There is no video that will ever be as good as personal experience for teaching us. Personal experiences engage all of our senses, which is a big reason why they are so powerful; and why so many want to move us out of them completely. They build our wisdom, self-sufficiency, and creative or cognitive functioning. They make us smarter and more proficient with things. Today we are reminded of the importances of getting as many experiences as possible in life. Even if they bring hard things, we will grow stronger because of them. Some will be good and some are going to be hard, but they will all teach us. At the end of the day, we can be grateful for what we have learned. Then we want to use that wisdom to move forward.

It can be so easy to reach for false pleasures, especially if we are stressed or not dealing well with life. This is not much different than someone whose blood sugar drops off and they reach for a candy bar instead of fruit and cheese/protein. It creates immediate relief or pleasure but then drops us off, often leaving us feeling lower/worse than when we reached for it. False pleasures never last very long. Reaching for the false pleasure is sort of like reacting instead of acting on something in life. When we are acting, we will choose true pleasure or what gives lasting joy. When we are reacting, we tend to choose false pleasures and immediate gratification. False pleasures can be very deceptive, and we have to dig deep sometimes to realize that we are in them or choosing them. Even anger and other strong emotions can be false sources of pleasures. They can give us an instant form of releasing pain, but they leave us exhausted and drained out because they cannot be sustained. When we choose true pleasure, we turn towards things that are connected to God/Divine Source. Even in pain, when we turn to this, our heart becomes expansive and we connect with what unfolds real joy and happiness. It may take longer to feel it come in, but it also stays with us until we choose differently. False pleasures are often found in our vices and "sins", thus why they are often referred to as sinful. They can be things like drugs, food, affairs, bad habits; or they can be something more elusive like emotions, negative thoughts, embracing victim energy. Negative or false pleasures provide an initial dopamine hit, just like true pleasures. However, it is nothing more than an initial rush. With true pleasures it opens a balanced and sustained flow. The challenge is to overcome the initial reaction that leads to choosing false pleasures, and to redirect into choosing what can be beneficial for us. Today reminds us to reach for true pleasure, regardless of what is happening in our life. It is the only way thru things. False pleasures will either diminish what is good or add to the challenges that we are having. When you are faced with choices, stop and consider what you are actually choosing, and choose what nourishes joy and happiness.

Weekly Focus – Put Down Those Heavy Bags

This week is calling us to put down and walk away from that heavy baggage we are continuing to carry from things that happened in our past.  Most of this baggage, when we get into the deeper layers of it, is connected to our will.  When we put down our will, we are free to choose God’s Will.  When we do this, we allow ourselves to move into a favorable future.  We shift the life we are living, and change the experiences that we are having.  We especially want to put down the baggage of strife and trials in life.  They are over and done with, and when we continue to carry them, we are choosing pain, suffering, misery, and everything that pulls us away from God/Divine Source.  When we do this, we block the best assistance that we can have in life.  Holding onto our misery is a defiance of the Divine, and blocks Divine Presence.  When people stay in this space, they are forcing their own will.  Things happen in life, but when they are over, we need to let them go.  We have experiences, good and hard, but we are not meant to live in something that we cannot change or that is in the past.  Memories will be there, but living there becomes a self-destructive path of betraying God/Divine Source.

This week is calling us to make the choice to move forward.  This is necessary if we are to clear the poor choices that we have made along the way.  We have to choose things that offset our pain.  This is part of rewiring our own brain to choose joy and to stop choosing the pain.  This can feel strange at first, and people may even feel guilty for feeling good or being joyous.  Their pain and what wants them separated from God/Divine Source implants programs that this is not allowed.  However, it is and it allows us to free ourselves from these chains that weigh us down.  This is a time to look at our opportunities and to start choosing what fills our heart with joy and love.

God/Divine Source gave us choice, specifically so that we could remove our own suffering.  It is a Divine tool that frees us and allows us to find our way back “home” and to free ourselves from the heavy burdens that we carry.  However, it does take some effort.  Once we have made a choice to move forward and allow joy and love back into our heart and mind, we have to put in the effort to follow it up with action.  It is the action the pulls out the negative programming and brings in the positive programming.  A choice to remain in the past and suffering, is also a choice to shut out God/Divine Source.  Changes need practical and responsible steps.  We start a little at a time.  Maybe allowing ourselves to be happy, laugh, and have joy for 5 minutes a day.  Then we grow that to 10, 20, 30 minutes.  Eventually, if we stay with it, we will have joy throughout most of our day.

This week is calling us to step up and deal with the baggage we have been carrying.  Just because we have been through rough things, doesn’t mean that we can’t have joy and happiness.  As the saying goes, we cannot serve 2 Gods.  Will you choose the one that leads to a favorable future or the one that keeps you chained to your past?  Are you dedicated to Divine Presence or misery?

It sounds so simple to say just choose something different.  When we are in that pain, we make that offer the hardest mountain to climb because we are separated from God/Divine Source.  That is why it feels so hard.  The heaviness of the pain doesn’t want us to see that it is as simple as making a choice, and it tries to hold us in fear of joy.  So, it puts thoughts in our head that we can’t, or that there is danger, or that we will be lost and inadequate if we leave the pain, or even that we are “bad” in some way and should feel guilty for moving on.  The pain has become an anchor in our life.  However, when we allow God/Divine Source to be our anchor instead of our pain, we realize that we have made things hard but the choice really is beyond simple.  Yes, we have to have trust and faith in God/Divine Source.  No, we won’t be able to control everything, understand everything, or know everything so that we can plan things out.  However, we don’t need to and don’t have to if we choose the Divine Anchor.  With it, we will always come through the pain, darkness, challenges, heartbreak, and anything else that life throws at us.

There always seems to be controversy about being paid for mission work. I find that this is not always as black and white as people make it out to be. Good points can be found on both sides of the fence. However, I differentiate the pieces a little. There is nothing wrong with being paid for doing good things in the world and being in Divine Service, such as a priest, massage therapist, or even those who help to bring medical and housing to impoverished areas of the world. After all we have to pay our bills just like everyone else, and why not do that through positive things. However, when we talk about something being a true mission/purpose in the world, money is not the deciding factor in doing the action. If we would NOT do something because we were not paid, then it is probably not that mission/purpose. With a mission/purpose or Divine Service, there is a deep inner caring and drive. It leads us to do things even if we receive nothing for them. There is an inner stirring that we have to do it. We see this when we prefer spending our time at the local animal shelter than taking a weekend vacation. Today reminds us that money will not be the deciding factor when we are truly passionate and are driven to something. Most people think our mission/purpose has to be grandiose, but it is really something that seems to weave through our daily life. Like the person who cannot turn away stray animals or doesn't pass a person by who is struggling without asking if they can help, or the local tradesman who doesn't charge the elderly for doing small things that need to be done for their safety, or the snowplow person who makes certain that older and disabled people are plowed out in Winter. We are reminded that our mission/purpose is less about a specific thing and more of a way of being in the world. It is the kindness and compassion in our heart that cannot be quieted. It is a way of life that is rooted in virtuous action which activates Divine Presence in the world. It doesn't wait to be funded for something, it finds a way regardless of what it has to work with.

July 14th New Moon

The New Moon energy always magnifies our opportunities, and always favors what provides us with greater freedom, self-sufficiency, and possibilities.  The choices that we make during this time will impact all of our existences.  As a result, it is important that we pay extra attention to what we choose and do.

This New Moon brings caution with it.  This is not the time to be traveling, out in large crowds or crowded places, around construction areas, or working with heavy machinery and power tools.  There is death and accident energy present; and that means that we need to use extra caution with all that we do.  This doesn’t mean that we have to hideaway in fear; but we do need to play it safe, so that we don’t end up sorry.  That means waiting a couple of extra seconds before entering the intersection.  Paying extra attention to what we are doing and what is happening around us.  However, we can avoid the worst-case scenarios by consciously choosing to deal with things and end what needs to end with love.

We can learn a lot from our experiences and interactions with others who have real life experiences.  Our experiences, help us learn the skills needed to bring forth success in the things that we want to do.  They give us an idea if what we are thinking of is inspiring or a fleeting interest.  The more we learn, the more we transmute things in our life and move forward.  The key is that we don’t give up because things feel challenging.  It is important that we listen to true mentors and not false prophets and gurus.  False prophets and gurus bring us danger; while mentors create good fortune.  The first pretends to support us; but only for money.  The second truly supports us; because they know what it is like to stand in our shoes.

We see strong storms at this time.  If we live in a storm area, then it is wise to have the necessary supplies on hand and in our vehicle.  We do not want to take chances; as storms can be worse than anticipated, are likely to create major devastation, and can be the cause of deaths.  Again, better to be safe than sorry; and make certain that you remain near safety and give yourself more than enough time to get home before they hit.  We also see them hit in illogical patterns, or do things that defy the normal laws of nature or gravity.  Our minds are not thinking clearly; and this leads people to make poor choices.  We need to rely on our intuition and instincts to help us; as this could be the thing that keep us safe.

This is a time to honor gratitude work and to appreciate the things that we have in our life.  It favors moving away from excesses and extravagance, and simplifying the way that we are living.  This allows us to focus on those things that hold true value in our life; and to experience life, instead of working all of the time.  We want to take the time to see the beauty that is around us every day; and which we often take for granted.  We are called to slow down and watch the sunrise or sunset or stare at the night sky.    It is a time to be with family and friends, and connect with natural processes; such as realizing that one of the ways that leaves know whether to unfold or not, particularly in Spring, is from the sound resonance emitted by birds.  There are always new things to explore, even in our own space, backyard, and town; if we just take the time to really see what is there.  Consider being a tourist in your own town.

We are called to live practically and responsibly.  It is important to deal with anything that needs to get done.  The more we escape and avoid things, the harder they will be to do; and the more challenges and issues that we create for ourselves.  We must deal with things, if we are to move in a favorable direction.  We must carefully consider the path that we are on.  It is important that we don’t spend money that we don’t have already in our possession.  Even if money should be coming in; that is not money that we have to spend.  Those who get out of debt and pay down debts and loans that they have, will move in favorable directions.  Keep things simple, and don’t spend money on things that are not needed.  There are always ways to work within our resources; but we may have to get a little creative to do it.

We are also likely to see the deeper layers of what triggers us.  Something may trigger past memories that include trauma or challenges.  We should be careful of anyone resurfacing that has been holding a grudge against us, and has not resolved it; as they bring in danger.  People may use things from the past to incite violence and get others to become aggressive against us.  Big triggers for people, are connected to unfairness, lies, bullying, feeling unprotected, abuse, and trauma that created great strife and challenges.  We want to recognize if we are getting triggered and dysregulated.  We want to step away from what triggers us, and not allow our minds to run rampant.  Then we can focus on our breath to pull the stress out of our body; so that we can tune into the facts, and not just our perception of things.  It is easy to blow things out of proportion and go into major reactions; but this will not serve us, and others are likely to use it against to justify that we are the problem and the irrational one.  We need to take time to step away, until we can look at things from a rational, calm, and clear mind.  This is NOT the time to talk things out with others; because, it is too easy for things to get worse.

This New Moon is in Perigee and is known as a Super Moon.  This can magnify or intensify the aspects that are present.  This energy, shows that our health is vulnerable; and we need to honor personal care, nutritious food, extra rest, getting out in nature and away from electronics.  People feel tired and exhausted.  We find that we have to say no to others; in order to care for ourselves.  Others may only think about deadlines and metrics; but not care about the others what their needs are.  If we over extend ourselves, we find that we end up sick and in a bigger imposition.  If we are outcast by others, or struggle with finances and making ends meet for basic needs; then we need to hang on, be patient, and realize that we are being re-directed to align with our Soul’s Path.  Everything is as it needs to be.

Power battles surface.  There may be conflict between world leaders.  Dictators seek control over their citizens, attempt to remove rights, and people refuse to find ways to work with each other instead of against each other.  Those who are wise reconcile things and work things out; and it is important to allow them to do that, without our advice.  We must stay out of other people’s battles.  We can ask questions and share advice, if serving as a mediator; but should not tell others what to do.  We want to focus on looking at things from different perspectives; as this helps us realize that more than one person can be right, and that there is more than one way to look at things.  Observation is the best place to stand.  We don’t want to let others use fear and urgency to get us to act without thinking.  This is not a good time to make decisions; especially impulsive ones.  We need time to think about things and research them.

We see a lot of lies, deception, and manipulation happening; and most of it is for personal gain and covering up illegal activities.  Those who don’t want the truth to come out, could be behind the accidents happening to those who stand in truth and integrity.  Simple scare plans or attempts to sabotage others can turn deadly.  Their extreme actions and using lies to cover up lies, trips them up; and blocks them from successfully carrying things out.  This leads to a lot of self-exposure for those who are not in integrity.  Their inability to control their impulses and their need to create suffering for those who cannot help themselves, leads to greed; and that leads them to have their plans backfire, and brings misfortune on themselves.  We need to step back, observe, stay in truth and integrity, and be in Divine Service; and things will take care of themselves.

Partnerships are favored; but they can also come to an end.  This is especially true if one person works in corruption and the other wants integrity.  People step down from companies and split off to start their own.  Patience and observation help us see who is in true partnership and works as a team with us; and who is trying to benefit from working with us, without putting in any effort.  Challenges with family and those who are like family come between those who are heavy in materialism, and those residing in Christ Consciousness and with God/Divine Source.  While helping people is good; we do not want to enable people to take advantage of us or to manipulate us.  This is especially true if they are capable of doing things themselves.  A good solution is to create exchanges, and have them give something for what they get.  Some partnerships end; or may start a new phase, cycle, or project together soon.  Those that end, are the result of one person not wanting to move forward, most likely due to greed and forcing their will instead of allowing the will of God/Divine Source.

I welcome you to use extra caution and play it safe.  What if this can save a life?

I welcome you to realize that the more you are willing to learn, the more that you can transmute things.  What if true mentors can help you with learning from the experiences that you are having?

I welcome you to not take any chances with storms.  What if staying near safety, helps you deal with any that surface unexpectedly?

I welcome you to be in appreciation for what you have in your life.  What if this helps you to stay connected with what holds true value in your life?

I welcome you to work with the resources that you already have.  What if a little creativity and keeping things simple, helps you to do that?

I welcome you to be aware of when you feel triggered and get dysregulated.  What if being extra aware, helps you to avoid getting into full blown reactions where you blow everything way out of proportion?

I welcome you to take care of yourself, even if that means saying no to others.  What if pushing your body too far, makes you unable to help them and leaves them without you for a longer period of time?

I welcome you to see things from many perspectives.  What if more than one person or perspective can be right?

I welcome you to step out of the way, and allow others to expose themselves.  What if this keeps you safe; as long as you are standing in truth and integrity?

I welcome you to be careful of who you are helping and creating partnerships with.  What if they need to work as a team; and give something in exchange for what they are getting?
