At first glance, I thought this photo was bizarre and hilarious.

And yet the more I looked, the more I began to uncover the deeply tragic tale it tells.

They are agonizingly close to perfect for each other: a perfect yin yang of human and horse. Only the other could understand each’s pain of being half-horse, half-human... yet at the same time, neither could be further from understanding the other’s reality.
