-Johnny finding Velma extremely cute -Johnny spending enough time in her presence to be thoroughly amazed by how smart she is -Johnny wanting to spend more and more time with her just to listen to her blow his mind with every science-y fact he doesn’t really get, but he’s actually starting to pick up a little here and there -Johnny going out of his way to better himself so he can impress her because she’s incredibly smart and he feels really stupid next to her and not in the “she’s to school for cool and I’m embarrassed to be here” way -Johnny picking up on little quirks Velma has like how she likes her coffee, or those little faces she makes when she’s excited or upset and how pumped she gets for every. single. mystery. ever. and he gets pumped along with her and makes the most incredibly lame traps in an attempt to impress her and please keep your glasses on, you make them look cute

-Velma already finds him hot. -Velma noticing all of this -Velma finding it adorable that he would sit down with a book in an attempt to figure out her science speak even tho half the time the book is upside-down -Velma giving him unsolicited tips and lowkey flirting and he’s too absorbed in trying to understand her to flirt back
