College Life

Hi Everyone.

It’s been a week and a half since graduation. 

I’ve been meeting with companies about work, but internally, I’ve been focused on absorbing graduation and being curious about who I am post-school. I’d become so accustomed to attending school, that I now need to see who I am without the relentless pace and pressure of college. It is really a different life experience to now be outside of that pressure. 

I also wanted to address all of you in this post.

When I started school, it didn’t occur to me to start a blog about the experience. It wasn’t until a couple of friends told me that they were surprised that I hadn’t begun one, that this was established. I really thought that the blog would a fairly dull read. My class assignments, my reactions to my exams, my assignments, etc. In my first post, I assured anyone reading that they’d be bored to tears if they continued to follow the blog. 

For myself though, the blog became a basket for all my college experiences (those that I was willing to share publicly). I liked having them all in one place. Then, the responses of others who were experiencing college at an older age really intrigued me. It’s been a real priviledge to read those experiences. And finally, it’s been a joy to share the whole experience with you readers. I know we don’t know each other, for the most part, but I just want to tell you that you made my college experience that much richer. Your being there, reading the posts, sending the occasional note, gave me a club house feeling. I knew that even if I exhausted my friends’ patience with my rants about my GPA, someone reading the blog would still be at least mildly interested in that day’s post. 

So, thank you for following along. It’s been meaningful to me. Thanks for all the encouragement that you took the time to send me and thank you for letting me know that my experience inspired some of you to go back to school yourselves. Those notes were extremely moving to me. I feel that affecting someone’s education is one of the largest things you can do in life. I know that all of you continuing your education are going to crush it. Don’t stop until you’re done.
