Gerbil In Space

I'm obsessed with the idea of particular creatures in MLP being tied together by their biologically given abilities, in particular creatures that, to any real extent, use fire. The only real use of fire in the show we've seen be inherently tied to any creatures are the Dragons and Kirin/Nirik, which makes me sadder that we hardly ever get to see the latter aside from one episode (even if there isn't much to do with them what who said that)

Back to fire; when I say "tied together" by their abilities, I mean that that's the main connection that they have; their fire. Aside from that completely different, including how they use it, or rather how they're taught to. It's explained in the show (to my knowledge) that when Kirin use their fire, they channel it emotionally, negative or otherwise, in order to transform into Nirik, and it's only when Autumn Blaze transforms to protect Applejack and Fluttershy that she realizes these transformations can be a good thing actually.

Compare this to dragons, who's fire is only really shown to be used for offensive purposes. granted dragons are raised to be naturally violent and rambunctious, but I think that is an interesting comparison to make in regards to the Kirin. Two species related to each other by their channeling of emotions and thought alone, but seperated by that same channeling in regards to how they do so. It makes me wonder if that transformation is something that would be possible for a dragon to do. Also how powerful that would be. That would be cool I think
