GR: After such a tough run of results, obviously for various different reasons, as I've said, big reset, and you never know, how it's going to pan out. Just really felt my groove again, really comfortable in the car, very similar to how I've felt at the start of the year. And then to get the result, yeah really grateful for the team, and everyone who's sort of stood by me in these couple of weeks. (...) I've not looked at a single piece of data the whole weekend. I've just driven the car and trusted my instincts. And that was a bit of a risk, because these cars are so complicated, and you're always trying to find that next step of improvement, but that's what I've been doing with my team for the last few races. (...) I was like, I need to trust my own gut here and something was telling me I needed to go in my own direction and super glad I have.

GR: It feels great. More than just the pole, just how this whole weekend has panned out. Had a big reset after Monaco, it's been a really tough run of races for us, for various different reasons. (...) Every single lap we've done this week, every session, every lap, we've been in the top 2 positions. And that is even if Lewis pipped us to pole today, I'd have still been super happy, with being back in this groove, this mojo, kind of at one with the car.

GR: This is why I was pleading with them not to give me the drive-through penalty, for the incorrect penalty in the race. Because once you have a drive-through, there is nothing you can do.

this lack of loud, public support very clearly contributes to george being constantly disrespected as a mercedes driver and i'm just awfully tired of how this shit just continues to grow and grow.
