A Folly Between the vines is a vineyard design that assists wine tourist to become aware of daily rituals and rhythms in the vineyard, which are highlighted through design decisions that challenge the 'ideal' and conventional commercial cellar door experience. The curation of ‘mundane' materials and rituals through a intervention, follies, and a sculptural cellar door tunes tourists into the everyday ‘present’, helping the visitor detach from the idealised Martinborough experience, making interactions with viticulture and locals more meaningful.
