perfectly imperfect

I was looking through my old college work and came across this email interview with CC.Hunter (Author of the Shadow Falls series) I Thought it would be cool to post it on here and share it with you guys!!

Thanks for writing to me. I'd be happy to help you with your research.

How did you come up with the story idea for Shadow falls? I have my editor to thank for that. I was writing romance novels under my real name (Christie Craig) for years (still do), and my editor asked if I'd try my hand at writing Young Adult. The thought scared me to death. But she said she had an idea: paranormal camp. That was it, that's all it took. I went home and my imagination took over--and Shadow Falls was born.

Which book was the hardest (or easiest) for you to write? Chosen at Nightfall. It is the last book in Kylie's series, and when I was writing it, I thought it would be the last Shadow Falls book ever. I cried through most of that book. I wasn't ready to say goodbye to those characters. Luckily, I didn't have to. :)

If you could meet any of your own characters, who would it be? That's a hard one. Gosh, I love all my characters so much. And in a way, I have met them all in my head. I'm almost finished with Della's last book, so my head is with Della at the moment. So, I'd like to meet her to ask her how in the world she's going to get out of the fix she's in.

Which of your characters is your favourite and why? Kylie will always have a special place in my heart.I think of all my characters, she''s the most like me.

Where and when do you like to write? I wake up early, go to my study and write for a few hours. Then, I take a break andgo for a walk with my neighbor. Then, it's back to writing till about 4, with only a break for lunch. I usually take the weekends off unless I'm on a tight deadline (like now), then my hubby wonders if I've run off because he never sees me. :) I've been know to barricade myself in my study.

What advice do you have for someone just starting out? Take as many writing classes as you can. I did. And write,write, write. The more you write, the better you get. And believe in yourself.

What was the hardest part of writing for you? Saying goodbye to a character, especially if I have to kill them off. I know writers that love killing off characters, but I hate it! I cry even though I know it's necessary.
