The otherworldly glacial lake of Jokulsarlon, Iceland

The Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon is one of the most amazing natural wonders of Iceland and one of the most popular attractions for travelers to visit. 

This is my most popular picture from my Iceland Collection. Walked around 5 hours near the lake to get that one and only perfect shot. Seems I reached the goal. Never quit, never fail.

The Lonely Tree & Auroras

Almost a year ago I choosed this place, this tree, this composition. Waited for so long to get some amazing backgound to it.

Yesterday it happened. The auroras. Drove to location, set it all up and took pictures almoust for the two hours in a cold freezing and strong wind.

Was amazing night.

About a month ago I contacted Estonian national airline company Estonian Air and asked for the opportunity to portray the pilots during the flight in a cockpit.

My wish was pretty specific as I asked to portray pilots above the clouds during the flight and during the sunset.

To my great surprise they answered and proposed me the date and time so it would fit into my wish for the sunset in the air. The flight took from Tallinn, the capital of Estonia to Oslo, the capital of Norway.

During the flights as a passenger I've always wondered what magical things happen behind this closed door that takes into the cockpit. So in addition to take this one magical portrait, I thought I would cover the whole flight and share the story in pictures with others.

Portraying the pilots is a part of my personal project to portray awesome professions and people behind. As usually we see professions but we rarely see the real people behind them. So this is my way of showing respect and share their stories. As the pilots wanted to stay anonymous, I decided to take the route in portraying the pilots kind of indirectly so it would portray them as in profession rather than certain people.

The biggest challenges that I faced was the rapid change of the light conditions from the takeoff until above the clouds. And the fact that in the cockpit the light intensity is much lower than outside. So to balance all this I had to change the settings very quickly as I was shooting in manual mode. And the moment with the sunset actually lasted merely 15 seconds. And this was the moment that I went to catch.

Made a summary video from my pictures taken last year. Got to admit, i´ve got in a place with my journey where I wanted to be. Specially considering two years ago I got my first digital camera and started to learn the whole thing.

Think it doesn´t happen too often that your country´s president decides to share your picture collection in his Facebook news feed.

So it happened during weekend that Estonian President shared the link to my Magical Tallinn Collection.

Was an incredible feeling and recognition, specially considering the style that I`m doing.

So I consider this as one of my photographic journey highlights so far and its fun.

So here´s the proof :)

Thought to make a write-up about my Magical Tallinn Collection.

Everything started after I completed my Magical Singapore collection. Then I thought that now I should take another awesome city to make a great collection of pictures from there.

Then I was already familiar with the work of Daniel Cheong, whose Dubai pictures are absolutely amazing. You could check out his work at Daniel's Flickr account. And I noticed that the compositions with the wide angle and a bit down than it is usually common, gives this awesome and grand feel.

Plus I love the style of post processing with HDR and digital blending.

His big advantage ofcourse is the vibrant city of Dubai, but I thought why not to get the good result in Estonian capital city Tallinn. Usually it's known by magical Old Town but not so much as a vibrant, dynamic and modern city.

So here I am now. Working on my style of giving pictures almost idealistic and "out of the world", "bigger than life" feeling. I'm at the beginning of my journey and continually working on my post processing workflow to get better and cleaner results.

And I totally enjoy the process.

I'd want to thank all my supporters and people who wrote to me personally letting me know that my pictures went straight to their heart. It's so special feeling to hear these words and it's giving more motivation to follow my path.
