I love Grace Ashcroft so much.
Not only is she incredible and so strong, enduring, compassionate. There are honestly not enough words to express how much I adore her character.
She was thrown into the craziest shit and overcame it even when her main job is, primarily, research, analysis, and not being in the front lines a lot of the time. Sure, she would've had field training, I get that, but that doesn't mean she is used to field work.
The shit that happens in requiem isn't even close to regular field work anyway, like, the fuck.
This post doesn't really have a point other than Grace is fantastic, and that's already important enough.
Chronic fatigue be hitting hard today, good grief. I hurt everywhere.
I always used to be creative in my favourite fandoms, but these days, because of pretty poor mental health, I can barely focus enough to do that anymore. It really sucks feeling useless in a fandom
Struggling™️ right now. Mental health deteriorating, and I have nobody to talk to about it

Favorite mutual didn't like my post. Deleting it and then killing myself.
reblog if you’ve had an online friendship that’s lasted more than 2 years
I've suddenly become obsessed with the mercenaries on RE4. I suck, but it's so much fun to mess around with the different play styles. Hunk is my favourite so far, I think
having your depression interfere with your life is so humiliating. yeah, my life is falling apart because i can't make myself do anything, i know that sounds pathetic
it’s such a shame that despite the millions of books, movies, and tv shows out there, no one has EVER managed to write a woman well. yeah, believe it or not, it’s never happened, not even once! and since i’m incapable of enjoying characters that AREN’T well written, i’ll just have to keep ONLY enjoying well written men, like tony stark
If anyone's looking for some recommendations:
1. Vanessa Ives (BIG impact on me in my formative years lmfao) from Penny Dreadful
2. Yennefer of Vengerberg from The Witcher
3. The Vampire Claudia from Interview With The Vampire
4. Lae'zel, Shadowheart and Karlach from BG3
5. Grace Ashcroft from Resident Evil
6. Sally from We Happy Few
7. Carol from Carol & The End of The World
8. Skyler White from Breaking Bad (the misogynistic response to character is... interesting).
9. Michonne from The Walking Dead
10. EVERYONE from The Handmaid's Tale (although, this a hard watch for me).

That Ring isn’t about shipping
I think people are misunderstanding the ring scene at the end of RE9.
And I say that as someone who has done an absurd amount of research on wedding ceremonies.
When I got married I wrote my own vows and ceremony script. Which meant I spent a stupid amount of time studying the structure of weddings — why we say what we say, why rings are used, what they symbolize, where that moment sits in the ceremony.
And almost every ceremony includes some variation of this explanation:
The ring is circular.
No beginning. No end.
Infinite.
It represents a promise that is meant to endure beyond whatever the present moment looks like.
Here’s a piece from my own ceremony:
These rings represent the vows and promises you’ve willingly exchanged. They reflect the commitment those words inspire and all your hopes and dreams for the future.
Hope.
That’s the word that matters.
So when Leon S. Kennedy — a man pushing fifty, who has spent the last thirty years fighting bioterrorism, drowning himself in alcohol, flirting with death on a near-annual basis, carrying the weight of entire cities on his conscience — quietly puts on a wedding ring…
The moment isn’t actually about who he married.
The moment is about the fact that he did.
Because if you step back and look at Leon as a character, that’s the real miracle.
This is a man whose life has been defined by survival, sacrifice, and loss. Raccoon City. Spain. Endless missions. Watching people die. Being ordered to do things he never wanted to do. Living inside systems that grind people down.
Leon has always been written as someone who doesn’t expect a future. He lives mission to mission. Crisis to crisis.
So the symbolism of the ring is almost aggressively simple.
It means at some point he chose something outside the war.
A life.
A commitment.
A future he intends to live long enough to see.
And that’s why the ring is powerful.
Not because it confirms a ship. Not because it resolves thirty years of fandom arguments.
But because it quietly says something about Leon Kennedy that the series rarely lets him have:
He survived long enough to build a life.
It’s a promise.
And more importantly, it’s a choice.
Someone stood in front of him and said I choose you.
And Leon — the guy who spent decades believing he was disposable — said it back.
The ring is the physical symbol of that exchange.
Hope for the future.
And for a character like Leon?
That might be the biggest victory he’s ever had.
what type of friend are you
hairband/elastic band friend
tampon/period pad friend
painkiller (paracetamol/ibuprofen/etc) friend
battery pack friend
hand sanitiser friend
mints friend
other type of friend I haven't mentioned
(As in, what do you usually have on hand all the time that can benefit others. For example, i have hairbands and painkillers on hand everywhere I go, and thus im able to offer people these things if they need them)
do not invite me over to your house if you only use the big light
Seeing all the amazing RE fics makes me miss writing my own 😭

It's so awesome to have a mum who has also been with the RE franchise since the year the og game came out because, when I was young, I used to watch her and my dad play it, and these days, I get to play it while my mum watches 🥹
