Traveling across the lands Liyue were not easy. The mountains, though pretty, made it quite difficult to cross and get up to certain heights. Especially when exploring with a Traveler that does it on a regular basis.

Zhongli was happy to tag along with them on the journey for some rare materials and artifacts. The only problem is that Y/N tired out a little bit earlier than the Geo Archon himself. Y/N of course did this everyday and they’d built a tolerance for it but it seems like each day they also get much more tired, wanting to get a few more hours of sleep before going off. Of course they couldn’t since they had duties to fulfil but it was still considered a luxury to have some more time to stay in the dreaming world.

Reaching up to the top of the mountain between the Dawn Winery, Stone Gate, and Sal Terrae, Y/N flopped to the ground after using their last ounce of strength to make it up. Zhongli, who had made it up there before them, noticed the light thud behind him and looked to see the Traveler had face-planted into the ground.

“Are you alright, Y/N?”

The Traveler, only groaning in response, rolled over onto their back and placed an arm over their eyes to shield the brightness of the sky.

Still confused, Zhongli walks over next to Y/N and repeats the question.

“Are you alright?”

Y/N, sitting up, looks at him and gives a more proper and direct reply.

“Yes, my body’s just giving out on me though. Mind if we stop somewhere near? Like an Inn or something?”

Zhongli hums before thinking about where the closest place is that would currently have a Inn.

“We could stop at Qingce Village, I’m sure they’d have some place to let us stay...”

Y/N opens their mouth to speak but Zhongli quickly cuts them off cuts them off, not realizing that he did.

“Or though it’s still a pretty far so we’d have to climb some more if we want to get there quicker. We could of course take the long route and I can carry you there if you’d like?”

Though no matter how tempting the offer was, Y/N wasn’t one to “give up”. They were stubborn and willing to push through the extra pain just to make it there quicker, even if it wasn’t worth it.

“No, it’s fine. I should be fine to climb an extra few.”

Zhongli extends his hand out to Y/N, they take it and is quickly lifted up to their feet.

“It’s getting dark so we should start going now.”

Zhongli takes off after hearing Y/N’s agreement, with them not too far behind.

Eventually arriving at the Village, Y/N was close to dropping to the ground but caught their self, before Zhongli could catch them as well.

“If you’d like, you can go sit down somewhere and I’ll go ask directions for the Inn?”

Y/N shook their head at the offer.

“I’d much rather go with you than sit and wait for you to come get me.” Y/N Sighed out.

“Very well.”

Zhongli walked around the Village with Y/N following behind, searching for someone to ask without bothering their work. Luckily, Zhongli was able to find an Elder who was more than happy to give directions to them

“Of course! Oh, it’s right over there.” Pointing towards the building where the supposed Inn was.

“Thank you.” Zhongli bowed slightly.

“Ah, don’t thank me. I’m more than happy to help out two lovers such as yourselves.”

The assumption caught Zhongli off guard and pulling Y/N to reality fairly quickly from the half-sleep state.

“I...” He cleared his throat before continuing, “Yes. Thank you very much for your help.”

Y/N looked towards Zhongli, about to question the words that just came out of his mouth but Zhongli quickly grabbed their hand and walked to the building. Y/N decided to stay silent since questioning it would most likely cause the atmosphere to be more awkward than it already was.

Reaching the Inn, Zhongli opened the door and offered Y/N to go first, entering after them. Distracted by the interior of the building and the need to look around a little bit, Zhongli walked to the receptionist.

“Hello! Are you looking for a room?”

“Yes, for one night and a double bed, if possible.”

“Lucky for you, there’s one room left with a double bed.”

“Ah, thank you.”

Paying accordingly, then eventually walking up to the room with Y/N.

“Uh...”

Y/N stands at the doorframe in shock while Zhongli walks in and inspects the bedroom.

“This has to be a mistake, I’ll go talk to them now.”

Zhongli walked back down to the front desk, leaving them in the room alone.

Y/N, tired and tempted to lay on the bed, sits on the bed. Hesitant to lay on it for the sake of the chance of it not being their room, sighs and thinks back to the conversation that happened not too long ago.

“Of course! Oh, it’s right over there.” Pointing towards the building where the supposed Inn was.

“Thank you.” Zhongli bowed slightly.

“Ah, don’t thank me. I’m more than happy to help out two lovers such as yourselves.”

Blushing, they put their hands on their face to hide the blush from no one and attempt to calm themselves.

He didn’t mean it, right?

Caught in their thoughts, Zhongli walks in with a barely noticeable frown on his face.

“They said that this is the only room that’s available,” He sighs before continuing, “Apologies this happened..”

Y/N hearing the confirmation of the bed being indeed theirs, instantly flops down on it.

“It’s fine, we’ll just share.”

Zhongli clears his throat.

“I’m really fine staying up, I’ll get some sleep when we get back to the Harbor.”

“Zhongli, please don’t force to stay up because of me. I don’t mind sharing a bed with you..”

Y/N trailing off into a quiet tone at the end.

Zhongli looks towards the window that sheds light from the moon, before he begins undressing himself from his tie and coat.

“Very well..”

Finishing the action, he sits on the other side of the bed. Y/N already finished partially undressing as well and laid down on their side of the bed, their back facing him.

Zhongli took one last look towards them before laying down and facing away from them.

“Goodnight, Y/N.”

“Goodnight, Zhongli.”

“Zhongli... Are you still awake..?”

“Is there something you need?”

“Oh no, nothing. I’m surprised you’re still awake...”

“Hm, and I to you. You were incredibly tired all day.”

“I guess this is just an environment I’m not used to..”

Zhongli turned around, facing Y/N. Y/N, hearing him shuffle around in bed, copied the action.

“I’m deeply sorry, but there’s nothing I can do about it. I’m more than willing to stay up, truly.”

Y/N, giggling lightly, shook their head.

“Please don’t, you’re the only thing that’s familiar and making me feel safe.”

“Oh.. I suppose I could stay here then...”

Zhongli diverts his eyes away from them, a slight blush evident on his face.

“Thank you.”

Nothing is said for a little while, staring at each other in comfort, before Y/N asks a slightly awkward question.

“Um, you don’t have to if you don’t want to but.. Do you think you could maybe.. Wrap your arms around me?” They hesitantly ask. Though, quickly speaking again, “I’m sorry, it’s just that it’d help me sleep a bit quicker.. You really don’t—”

Zhongli wraps his arms around them, catching them off guard.

“If it can help you, then I’m more than willing to do it.”

Zhongli, realizing what he just said, attempts to continue keep eye contact. Watching them replicating the same thing he did recently, a visible soft smile on his face.

“I, yeah... um... Thank you.. really.. Is there any way I could repay you for this?”

“Hmm, I can think of one thing..~”

Zhongli caught their chin in-between his fingers and placed his lips against theirs. The kiss lingering much longer after it ended. Their eyes remained attentive with each other, love for the two becoming more evident with each passing second.

“That.. Can you do that again..?” Y/N asked, leaning closer into his touch.

Zhongli was quick to place his lips back on theirs once more, making sure to deepen the kiss more than before. Eventually, he pulled them on top of him. Sitting them both up but temporarily separating for breath before moving back in, his hands wandering their waist, though pulls them away from him not long after.

“Are you.. sure you want... to continue this?” He questioned them, a little out of breath.

“If I wasn’t, I wouldn’t still be on top of you and kissing you.” Y/N smirked before chasing his lips..

Mona!

Personally, I think Mona is perfect for you.

LOVES that you’re into astrology and will always offer to do a reading for you. She’s not one to go into Tarot Cards too much but understands it enough to know how it works, she just prefers to use her way of reading.

If you enjoy singing, it’s no doubt she’ll also ask you to sing for her constantly, especially when she’s about to sleep. If you ask her to sing, she’ll be a little bit hesitant and embarrassed but will attempt. Will stutter over her words a little bit while singing but continues on. And if you tease her about it, she’ll simply brush it off saying something along the lines of she’ll “Never ever do it again!”, but she doesn’t mean that, she’ll do absolutely everything for you again and again.

She’ll be really grateful if you’re good at giving advice since it’s something she’s in dire need of, but she’ll never ask for it, she’ll only wait until you offer it. The only advice she needs is advice about currency and Mora, of course. Mainly just about how to get more when it comes to clients and doing readings for others.

You being responsible is also pretty helpful for her. She has trouble with that sometimes, so can definitely use some help with that if you don’t mind.

You’re sweet but think you’re boring? Pfft, have fun trying to change Mona’s mind and convince her that you’re boring anytime you tell her something along the lines of that. She’s incredibly quick to start listing all the reasons why you’re enjoyable, loveable, exciting to be around, and you’re the best person to and for her.

Doesn’t mind that you’re confrontational but she doesn’t like a lot of confrontational stuff and tends to avoid it if she’s able to help it. So if you’re in an argument or something along the lines, she’ll only watch from the sidelines. Must anyone start taking it too far by insulting, she’s instantly getting in-between to break things up, though, she is a little biased... If they insult you first, she’ll somewhat indirectly insult them and will go much further if need to. If you insult them first, she’ll simply attempt to pull you away and whisper an apology to them. 

She’s really happy that you’re adaptive. Because she has to move around for her job, she’ll be happy if you’re able to move with her. Company is something she really needs but almost never gets if you’re excluding the clients, so she’s quite grateful for it.

She doesn’t mind that you keep to yourself but she will beg you to tell her if something’s wrong. She’s very intuitive with your feelings and so on, so it’s not hard for her to notice something’s wrong. She’ll end up being very affectionate with you to cheer you up, especially since it’s the best thing to give you that she can cost.

She also doesn’t mind that you’re scared of thunderstorms or the dark. Is also more than willing to be more cuddly with in means of comforting if you need it.

Talking about affection— She quite enjoys affection as well. It’s constantly on her mind but she’s good at hiding it. She likes to appear a tiny bit cold and act like she doesn’t need/like it, but once any physical touch comes into contact with her, she’s on you in an instant. When it comes to PDA, she doesn’t mind it but also doesn’t mind if you don’t like it. She’s quite understanding of how some people might not like it and has nothing against it.

Chongyun!

I think you and Chongyun would be good for each other.

He doesn’t support being manipulative all that much but if it’s just to get out of situations you don’t feel comfortable in, then he guesses it’s fine. He might even help you if you’d like. Though, he’d prefer to to involve himself in it too much.

He wouldn’t care much about your tendency to plan things but may just help here and there if you ask. However, will definitely join you with breaking apart situations because he very much dislikes conflict among some people. He won’t admit it but he also likes it because it makes him feel more mature. Doesn’t bother much to help people understand their mistakes, he just sorta points them out to them. If they deny it, then so be it.

He doesn’t mind that you can’t get close to people, because he can’t either. He, obviously, comes off very cold and aloof to other people. Especially when in public with you, but his act changes when you two are alone, doesn’t admit it though. However, if it’s something you want to work on, he’ll work on it with you so you two can help each other out if need be.

He can and will not ever get used to your use of pet-names. It’s such a foreign concept to him, he’ll become flustered anytime you use them on him. Is a little bit jealous that you use it on everyone else though but he won’t get you to change, he’ll just learn to deal and get over it.

Your temper’s bad? He doesn’t care, he tries not to upset you but if it happens, he apologizes and tries to make it up to you. He may seem rude but he’s a really sweet guy to those who are close to him and actually take the time to get to know him. If you’re upset about something else, he’ll attempt to calm you down. However, if it’s someone else, he’ll let you do what you want. Just as long as you don’t take it too far.

Affection is also something he’s not familiar with, and can become a tiny bit embarrassed when experiencing it. It may get to the point where he attempts to try and avoid it. It’s not because he doesn’t like you or anything, it’s just because he genuinely doesn’t like feeling embarrassed from simple affection and love.

He’ll also scold you if you’re ignoring your own needs to make sure everyone else is satisfied, he’s happy that you’re taking care of everyone but he really doesn’t want you to ignore your own needs for the sake of others. He might even offer to help quite a bit, but he doesn’t like it if you bring it up to tease him about it.

He finds it cute that you talk to the moon when you’ve had an not-so-good-day. He’ll watch you from behind but will apologize pretty quickly and leave if you “catch” him.

He’s not a big fan of coffee, much more of a tea person but wouldn’t mind getting you some coffee if you ask him for it. Will drink some coffee with you here and there.
