The nature of reality.
First it is obvious that change is inescapable. The reason we can ascertain this is because we live in a reality constantly changing, and a state of change cannot arise from a state of stasis. If nothing is happening, not even any quantum fluctuations, then there is no reason for it to become a state of dynamism. So change is eternal and inescapable.
The second is that opposites are inherent in reality. From positive and negative charges, to gravity and the repelling force, to matter and anti-matter, opposites are a fundamental part of the character of reality.
Why does this matter? Because we are children of this reality, the reality that governs things which are so small they only exist theoretically, to systems to large their expanse is beyond our comprehension, and as children of that reality we are subject to its inherent nature, as is everything.
A couple small notes, on the concept of change. We might say that change is driven by an inability of systems to achieve equilibrium. That everything is driven by that, but nothing can achieve it due to the fact that diversity of force and mass means nothing can be equalized.
Also change might either be linear or cyclical, it is possible that we somehow go through a process which brings us back to a state that existed before the big bang, and we replay all this. Or change is linear, reality is constantly evolving into novel states of being. It is like a freight train, which becomes an antelope, which becomes a comet.
On opposites. One could perform a thought experiment which works along the line of, if opposites are an inescapable part of reality, perhaps that is the reason that humans are constantly unable to reach consensus. And that if I create something I create the impetus for the birth of its opposite. Not that it happens in a linear fashion, I don't kill someone and instantly someone else is healed, but I have sown the seeds for the opposite to exist.
