‼️ MK2 SPOILERS ‼️

I really like that the movie didn't have Liu Kang as the champion. I think it's a refreshing change and a pleasant twist from what older fans might have been expecting.

Having Kitana be the Mortal Kombat champion instead not only gave a much more satisfying conclusion to the story, but also detered film from becoming another the prince saves the princess sort of thing.

However, when Liu Kang gets killed, he says "I understand now. Raiden says I am not the chosen one. It is my duty to bring back Kung Lao." Then he bursts into flames to descend to Netherrealm to find Kung Lao.

So Liu Kang does have a princess he must go save, it just wasn't Kitana...

Go rescue your princess, Liu Kang!

Went to see Mortal Kombat 2 again tonight and had just as much fun as the first time! Definitely worth the extra cost of viewing in GTX or IMAX. All killer no filler.
