Gene was coming to have a sleepover at Molly’s apartment almost every day in 2018. The two of them hit it off almost immediately. Gene finally had someone he could talk to about pretty much everything and anything without feeling ashamed. Their talks were way different compared to his and Lennon’s. He felt so safe around his big sister; she had this motherly, soft presence to her. Molly tugs on Gene’s shoulder and tells him it’s time they headed to bed, Gene having fallen asleep against her halfway through the film. It warms her heart to get to see Gene behave this way; it’s like she’s making up for missing out on all his little moments when he was a kid, the thought of having a clingy baby brother attached at her hip. She carries Gene to her bedroom, he’s pretty light for a 17 year-old and she tucks him in like she would a kid, getting him all cozy and warm. She pulls back the covers and gets snuggled closely to her baby brother.

Around 3am, Molly feels a bit of movement from the other side of the bed and a few quiet, tiny mews that sound like sobs. She rubs her eyes, reaches over, and turns the lamp on, seeing Gene huddled up on the floor, thumb tucked deep in his mouth. She immediately rushes over to him and asks what’s wrong. Gene replies with a muffled, wet “I didn’t mean to, ‘m sorry,” choking back his own tears. Molly asks what he means and he points his little finger over to the wet, damp spot on his side of the bed. Molly immediately takes him into her arms and rubs the back of his head trying to soothe him, telling him it’s all okay.

He’s still a bit shaky from having thought Molly was going to be upset and tell him he’s too old to be wetting the bed. She walks him to the bathroom and has him remove his underwear and shirt, getting him in the tub. Gene looks every bit like a vulnerable child. They don’t speak much while she’s bathing him, it being obvious he’s still a little fussy and tired from exhausting himself. Once he’s all clean, she has him stand up, water dripping off his scrawny body, him placing his hand over his prick, embarrassed.
