and the fact that some SA victims benefit from CNC doesn't negate the fact that there are tons of people who engage in CNC who have never been sexually assaulted and just get off to the idea and enactment of sexual assault, to them it's just fun and sexy

as well as abusers in kink spaces who take advantage of people to satisfy their sexual need to see a woman powerless and/or in pain, resisting, AND tons of misogynist ideology that radiates in kink spaces, INCLUDING from women. i don't think anyone should see the type of shit people say on this website under the guise of 'kink' (like women are brainless, women deserve to be raped, real shit under the cnc tag) and let it slide. it shouldn't slide for any reason. and getting off on these things isn't subversive in any way

i read the article but i do think its bullshit to tell SA victims to just roleplay sexual assault to 'heal' (AKA, learn to like it). i believe if you develop an enjoyment of re-enacting any traumatic situation there are other ways to heal than "sitting their (there*) and doing nothing about it," and it shouldn't be encouraged willy nilly to SA victims - as the article you linked mentioned, it can be distressing and re-traumatizing for some victims. it's not a net positive and promoting it can be dangerous;

also in the sense that CNC does not only exist in private, in a vacuum, it's also part of a larger kink culture that is pressured onto women at large. women are shamed for being "vanilla" if they're not into these things and are pressured into satisfying the sexually charged aggression of men. young men see these things in the culture and assume women like to be choked, hit, forced etc and it does effect the sexual experiences that women have as well as the mindset around women in our culture.

and its not just in a cishet culture context that these things happen but there are so many queer spaces on this site where people shame others as 'boring' for not enjoying sexual aggression. its considered queer and radical to enjoy abuse as long as its sexualized.

to me the promotion of CNC especially to people who are not SA victims perpetuates rape culture and encourages people to trivialize and sexualize the idea of rape

and to me, that is disgusting.
