like the betrayal’s always going to be worse if they cared about you and it didn’t matter. someone discards you because they didn’t give a shit, then you can be angry about that, you can feel vindicated in that, you can get over it. but if they can look you in the eyes and say “I love you. I would make the same choice again.” You will never sleep peacefully again, is all.

okay. something about the way i worded this is making people think this is a vent thing about real relationships. and it’s fine if that’s where it took you. but i feel like i need to be transparent here: this be blorboposting. karlach cliffgate and her terrible awful no good very bad betrayal.

If I was Phoenix Wright, and my recently adopted daughters deadbeat biological father showed back up after abandoning her in my care and revealing he’s more of a dickhead than I even thought, I’d have actually killed him around 2 am on April 17th 2026. I’d have actually done it I think, so we have to give Phoenix credit for holding back.

yknow whats so crazy. franziska has a big moment at the end of aa2 where she breaks down in tears after a whole game of being angry and its a huge moment where she finally shows vulnerability. she acts "childishly" after a whole game of acting more mature than she is. and at the end of aai2 (technically near the beginning of the last case but shhh) eustace's big moment is him standing up to his dad, speaking calmly despite crying, after a whole game of crying easily and being looked down by adults. they were the same ages at both points but where franziska's problem has been growing up too fast because of her father's expectations, eustace's is how he's never been able to really grow because of his dad's total control over his life.
